Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

Great to win the GS but the context of Wales, England being near all time lows should not be forgotten.
And Italy and Scotland remain as harmless as ever.

The France Ireland game was always the GS decider for both teams.

Best squad depth we have ever had.

Leinster probably won’t be tested until they meet Saracens, who if have a full side out will have too much again for them. Especially upfront.

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

Does James Ryan ever put in a less than 8/10 performance? I actually thought Leinster were really poor on Saturday. Conceding three tries to NH was not on. Scrum penalty (harsh) and very ineffective maul compared to the week before. He was hardly a 6 in any of the games in Japan. Leinster are in a ...

Re: The Offical GAA Thread

Very surprised at Cork in that second half. KK just pushed up on the puck outs and it was game over. Limerick like the short puck out as well. Semi final not a given at all. You compare that to Wexford who in the Leinster final went long and bunched together so KK couldn't win the ball. This KK tea...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

I think people are being a little harsh on SOB. He's a handy guy to point the finger at, given his previous heights and how well Leavy played last year, but he hasn't been awful. Just not at his best. Part of that is his own form but part of it has been the lack of cohesion up front and the differe...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

The fear now is too many of our players are clearly past their peak and in their 30s. We need to freshen up the pack and play a more expansive game plan. I expect Joe to make several changes to the first 15 going forward. It's pretty clear now if we are going to the world cup with the same front lin...

Stockdale is still too raw in defence for my liking. He's going to cost us soon in a big game. He has played 1740 minutes of rugby this season over 24 matches with 22 starts and 2 subs at an average of 72.5 minutes per game. That's a phenomenal work load for a second row, especially one who i...
