Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

Harry Byrne has been by far and away the best underage 10 since Paddy Jackson. He has always played well for Leinster, albeit against weaker opposition. Just needs to start the bigger game, reckon he needs to tone it down a bit, sometimes he can hit for the high risk play too often, but looks the mo...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

I would select POM at 7 ahead of VDF and Connors. Both of them are decent players, both are weak enough at the breakdown and in general too light for 6 nations rugby. POM was one of Ireland’s better performers in the autumn, he is physical when he gets fired up, world class line out jumper and provi...

Speed is good, but being able to defend is better.

I can still see Stefan Terblanche make a fool of Denis Hickie, who was no slouch himself.
Sexton scored a pretty decent try vs a strong Munster ‘a’ in December.

Great to hear Willie. 👍 I remember hearing the hype about him 2 years ago. Ulster have a lot of quality in the back 3 around his age. I think McIlroy is a gem, there is Stockdale, Lyttle, Baloucoune and Lowry. He won't get many chances, especially if he doesn't take them I hope he can get back fit ...

FFS, he had one good run up the wing but he’s 35 and his place kicking has been gash. Too much hype lads, calm down. I know there's been a bit of profligacy from Ulster but you have to admire the work that leinster make you do to cross the line. They seem quite porous between the halfway line and the 22 but something seems to click when Ulster get into the 22 and they become a different defensive unit They all ta...
