How do you guys watch chess? I mean, don't get me wrong. I know how to play it and enjoy playing it but it doesn't strike me as the type of game you get hyped over. It's all in the commentary. Pog wins Liege like a Sunday training ride, and doesn’t look like he’ll have any competition for the Giro. The gulf in class was ridiculous. Given the reports on Jonas's recovery from his crash and the insane depth in the UAE team it's hard to see anyone even vaguely challenging him in either Franc...

Comparing productivity to Headcount is less accurate than comparing to Whole Time Equivalents. Less than fulltim...

Re: Rob Baxter to World Rugby, Stop messing with the scrum and maul
My worry with the scrum change (and I speak as someone who weighs a whopping 73kg) is that we'll end up moving to a lighter and much more mobile front row (just accept the free kick against you at the scrum and look to win your own lineout) so we end up with even less space in the backfield.

Manu Tuilagi's recent effective international retirement got me thinking as to where he sits in the all time England XV reckoning. I seem to recall that Irish trainers get some sort of tax break which makes the playing field somewhat slanted. Is that right? Not sure how you recall that, since it's not true Irish breeders get a huge tax break. This has little impact upon NH racing at the top level since French horses dominate (...
