Re: Official FIFA World Cup Thread - Qatar 2022
It’s all subjective. 2-0, one team proceeds to the next round, the other goes home. You’re missing the nuance. Football, like life, is not black and white. Football is very much black and white (well, mostly black for France). The best team is the team that wins. nobody will ever remember anything e...

Does OP suggests that Georgia being hammered by Wales would actually increase their odds of entering the 6 Nations through..?

Re: Players that would become the GOAT if they win the RWC?
:( Well, for the last 30 years, I've never ever seen a back as consistently freaking good weeks in weeks out as DuPont (and I've seen guys like Carter or BOD)....and guess what? He is French. While you've at least picked a fantastic player, you are still prone to the most ridiculous exaggerations! ...

There was a French comedy “Le coup du parapluie” that I thought is f@ntastic Good call Pierre Richard. You can get much more french. You might want to check "le grand blond avec une chaussure noire" then, probably even more cult. Les Parapleuies de Cherbourg ? Very good call - french defining

Dupont - nah, would need 60 more caps at least, a few more Grand Slam to his name, and another worldcup to be in the GOAT discussion.
Smith and Retallick potentially GOAT in their respective positions. Etzebeth getting closer too.

I find France is hard as our movies rarely export well outside of our borders. My picks would be from an outsiders perspective: - Amelie - La vie en Rose - Cyrano - La haine (probably the most iconic) If you after "quitenssially french" though I would pick "Les Bronzes", ""Un air de famille", et "L...

I am surprised the PC police on social media hasn't jumped on this - not that they should but this is a golden opportunity here. Why? It was the French 10 who stripped the ball in the tackle, so the video ref clearly wasn't referring to the black French player. You are right. Although there is only...

In essence, it’s great to see some bants, probably in this case Peyper has made an error in judgement, which is a shame because it was after a solid ref performance where he got all the major calls correct . Now this error is his error And his alone, it has nothing to do with the Welsh team, they a...

Whilst the red card was correct, that photo was a poor decision . It will not have an effect on the card but Jaco could well end up in trouble over it. WTAF was he thinking? Nah, some players already get deliberately held down to seek a pen Of course, and refs should identify this. I find Dussautoir incredibly overrated.
Useful as a player on the field for commitment and leading the charge from the front, but man his skills level was shocking.
I am still amazed of how long he managed to stay at the top with a tackling / rucking mono-dimensional game.

Obviously this has nothing to do with homophobia. I am actually impressed by the fact that Bastareaud can string two interjections in english, both gramatically correct.
I think he should actually be rewarded for communicating with the opposition in their native language. An example for all.
