Re: Highlanders vs Crusaders Match Thread
That's harsh Gus No. It's fúcken ridiculous. A n gus didn't find a penalty there so there were three options under the laws, depending on what actually was happening. The player was considered tackled (i.e. a knee on the ground). A maul had ended the tackle. There was neither a tackle or a maul. On...

Re: Blues v Hurricanes @ Eden Park - Saturday 11 May
Brilliant game, don’t understand the tap and go over a scrum at the end though, 8 off the base always in front of the 5 line. Taps always seem behind. Risk aversion seems the likely reason. It's easier to stuff up a scrum / get penalised for a bullshit reason than stuff up a tap in the first phase....

Re: Tahs v Brumbies Match Thread
Watching both teams warm up, the amount of balls passed that are just not accurate… it’s no wonder we never win the bledisoloe. Haven’t been to a Reds game this year but I’m sure it holds true there also. Skills are f**ked. Yeah, it's a bit that way. Watching Strayan RL vis-a-vis Strayan RU is a ta...

I've seen the Northern lights, but it was mostly green. Is it different based on the hemispheres, or just luck of the draw? I've seen it as green with the naked eye from stewart Island / Rakiura and other various parts of Southland. Usually when captured on film the exposure is turned right up, whi...

If a team doesn't make a genuine attempt to contest for a lineout then not straight calls are a complete waste of time. Especially in poor conditions. If the throw is that wonky, you probably need to call it. We've a real issue with lineout throwing in NZ, was watching the NZU20 v SAU20, and Bason ...

Those stats really show what an impressive season Peter Lakai is having. I knew he'd been playing well but wow. I think they really highlight Hoskins Sotutu's form. What's most surprising is Tom Christie in the top five for clean breaks and try assists, that's enough for me to think he's developed ...

I can see where you're coming from just putting up my arguments for against. We can't really judge whether or not Hannah's lineout is up to standard even if is the hooker fault. It certainly isn't in the spirit of the game, however how would a postponement impact the club competition, or wouldn't it ? It'd be tough, as the Canterbury Country club comp is split across two sub unions and Mid Canterbury, where they split off into their respective comps at the conclusion. Look...

They won the Super Rugby final. What criteria are you using? They were middle of the road team that year and managed to fluke a title run. Canes was the top team the entire season and choked. If they play best out of 3 series they would have lost 100% But, they won. That means they were the top tea...

Yeah the Brumbies have to stay but what has happened to the Tahs is a travesty. The standard of rugby from the Tahs over the last 5 years has been completely unacceptable. Australian rugby simply cannot afford to have such a weak NSW team. It's mostly a depth issue, most teams have large injury lis...

It's almost as if there are other factors that are contributing to these shortcomings that cutting a team didn't and won't solve... go figure? 100%. Toole deserves a shot. Might be great. Might be Rod Davies Mk. 2. The Wales games seem as good a time as any. Hes worth 5-15 points a game. These aren't mugs he's running around either.
