The pier wouldn't have been designed for a neopanamax vessel back in the 70s. Why there wasn't a berm/artificial island or the like protecting the pier is difficult to understand. I'm sure there'll be urgent checks for an y similar instances across the globe in the coming days. It wouldn't. But it'...

Lol. Guscott 30 tries in 65, Manu 18 in 60. For a lot of his career guscott was scoring 3 in 5. His record stands up against pretty much any centre in any era. Manu not so much.

Meh. Manu is a beast, raw power. But for skill he doesn't even come remotely close to guscott. Not even in the same ballpark.

Watching these back, it's also clear how massively underrated carling is these days.

World Athletics plans to trial new format for long jump take-offs World Athletics is considering introducing a new format for measuring long jump take-offs. A "take-off zone" will be used instead of the traditional wooden board, where a no-jump is called if the athlete's foot crosses the line. The ...

Re: Jeremy Guscott v Manu Tuilagi - who was better?

Guscott was different class on the rugby field. Honestly if he'd worn any other colour than English White, he'd be touted as one of the best ever. Tuilagi was always a "what if?" had all the potential and only ever really showed glimpses of it. Both had roughly the same number of caps for England (...

Re: Stupid laws world rugby have created in recent years

The thing is, I totally agree that flopping over the line repeatedly and being rewarded with a 5m scrum is too much advantage for the attacking side. However, the held up rule is too punitive. Yes I like the idea that it cuts out pick and goes, but as above it hasn't really. The other issue is that ...

It's not about "doubt". If there's not enough evidence to give the try, either the attacking team didn't do a good enough job, or the defending team did a really good job. Why do the attacking team deserve another go in that scenario? I'm talking about giving the attacking team the benefit of the d...

I like the drop outs. If you get held up, you've messed it up and you also prevent the 5 minutes of scrum resets that often followed.
