Re: Queenslander Gout Gout is a bit rapid

Into the semis of the 200 at the world champs. Will be amazing if he can make the final as a 17yo schoolboy. I doubt he will. Already an incredible effort - he's so skinny compared to all the older competitors. Won't start hitting his stride until the world championships after next, or maybe the on...

Re: Wallabies 2025: Revenge of the Schmidt

Anyway, watching the game now. 3 all at HT. Tahs scrum is wildly better than force, but force seem better everywhere else. Harvey seems handy. Force have a couple of rapid wingers ive never heard of. Grealy best of the backs IMO. I expected the Tahs to be comfortably better off the strength of thei...

Re: Charlie Kirk Assassinated

No one knows who did it but there are wild claims, even on here, about the Far Left being involved. Given that the guy who shot at Trump and the one that murdered the Democrats in Minnesota were Republicans, I'm sceptical. You're right - could be anyone. The guy being able to pull off a 200m shot t...

I see MAGA are blaming South Park for the assassination. Must admit I've quite enjoyed the current season. Better they blame Southpark than blacks, jews, arabs, midgets, trans, gays, or brown immigrants like they normally do. Witches also held responsible - https://www.newsweek.com/charlie-kirk-jez...

Re: Charlie Kirk Assassinated

The US is really on a downward spiral.

They recovered last time they went down this path in the 60s. Could happen again - you never know. The cancer of social media makes it seem less likely at the moment.

Re: Wallabies 2025: Revenge of the Schmidt

Another small thing missed in the excitement - BPA is back to being excellent. Huge amount of responsibility at the end of the game with the taps and lineout throw, and he nailed everything. Losing the 2 first choice hookers hasn't really affected the Wallabies. That sort of depth wasn't there before.

Should start with JOC next week and give Donno plenty of time off the bench. Donno and Edmed will have to get the job done for the rest of the year after that. Will also ha...

I don't usually comment on the refs, but this was too much. One sided reffing throughout the entire second half. :x Well done Australia, you took your chances well. The first yellow was bizarre and not a standard applied at the end. Very odd. Dumb comment. They'd given away 5 off-sides in the 5m in...

Finlay is decent. He wouldn't get a start for any of the Oz Super teams, which is not something you'd often say, but I doubt he'll lose the ABs the match.

Still think NZ fans will be surprised about how far the Boks have fallen - which is normal given it's mid-RWC cycle.

The Boks were a dodgy Doleman decision away from going down 2-0 to a badly injury hit Wallabies at home. Not sure why anyone thinks this game will be close at Eden Park of all places. Been watching all the media on YouTube about last week's game (Wallabies will plummet to earth, so enjoying it while I can). By far my favourite was one of the Kiwi takes with Marshall and Mils. Apparently, the Wallabies victory was down to Schmidt, Mike Cron, and JOC having played in NZ for a seaso...

Jorgo's all round game is freakish though. Have a feeling he'll be on the World Player of the Year shortlist. Wish we could clone him.

Re: TRC 2025 - Wallabies tour of South Africa

Interestingly, going by Rugbypass data, most wingers are in the 60% range of tackles complete and sit around the 80 tackle mark. It has Toole at 60% and 89 tackles. So that’s the lower end of percentages but upper end of tackles made. So he is looking for work but not as effective in the tackle. St...

This is still pretty bad; 68% is not vastly better than 64% - It's basically the same. The 178cm and 85kg winger has also vastly improved his work in the air, as well as his tackling in 2025 with the winger making 89 of 131 (68%), which is an improvement on the 45 of 70 tackles (64%) he made in 2024.

One extra benefit of Skeltons involvement is how much better he makes Frost. Frost isnt stuck doing hit ups in tight and getting bent. He can concentrate on workrate and his lineout prowess. Good point. He's too soft for the tight stuff, but is very effective otherwise. Apart from Pollard's terribl...
