Re: Lions Lions Lions
Genuine question - what is Scotlands try/match figure like compared to Ireland, and how are they balanced between outside backs and others? My impression is that Scotland score plenty of tries (but leak a lot too), compared to Ireland, and that the outside backs score a lot compared to the pack. My...

Re: Lions Lions Lions
He’d have made my starting side over Lowe cause we have no pace and he has loads. Lowe has a strike rate of 0.4 tries per game, Graham 0.74. Lowe will finish chances, Graham will create them as well as finish them. Obviously Lowe does make chances, but playing for Scotland Graham is presented with ...

Confirmed . Eugh , they stink the world up This is just insane. Surely to goodness someone in the Lions must have seen how badly this would play given that he's the coach's son and has been playing like a drain on the rare occasions he has played. I am off to look at some Engliish club websites. I ...

I'd forgotten about Graham. I had him down as injured in my head, for some reason. I'd have him there in a heartbeat. I bet he could even do a decent job at 13 if asked. He missed the tail end of the season but is fit again. He’d have made my starting side over Lowe cause we have no pace and he has...

Re: Rugby's New Experiment of Backs replacing forwards.
When I was a lad in the 60s and early 70s, it was never hard to tell the difference between forwards and backs. Our Edinburgh season tickets are beside the away team subs seats. My son (25 and ex TH so played in the modern era) and I play a game trying to work out which of the players we do not reco...

Re: Rugby's New Experiment of Backs replacing forwards.
Glasgow and Scotland have both deployed Staff McDowall (centre) as a lineout forward. He's 6 ft 5 but lighter than forwards that size. He is very effective.

DVdM - He's more a donkey than a rugby player, but a helluva physical handful. Was (pleasantly) shocked to see him pass at one point! Lots of hairy moments. Anyone know of any family with three generations of Lions? Just struck me there's an outside chance for the Wood family with Keith's son in the Munster academy. He's not highly rated so probably won't happen but just curious if it's been done. According to the Times, Fin Smith is the first grandson...

Thank you Baroness Casey! Let's not forget people like Sherblue and Corbyn Dallas were also strongly against an national enquiry and called people who supported an enquiry far right. I'd imagine it's people like these that were involved in the cover ups 'for the good of diversity'. Her headline fin...

You aren't normally this obtuse Joe No, and fair's fair, it was a glib off-hand comment I meant very little by and have no real issue apologising for any offense caused but we've seen 1,200 (?) deaths on October 7th, (at least) 50,000 deaths in Gaza and the potential death-toll for a ground invasio...

You based a whole country and their history on that one contention. Yeah, and it was a totally heartfelt contention in a very serious conversation. Anyhow, Beevor has written the historical record, Scottish cowardice is in the (literal) history books now, nothing you or I can do about it. In a conv...

Most of the leaders, during the periods of peak evil, returned to the UK, right? Probably as heroes. Australia’s massive immigration in the previous century sees most current Australians with little or no ties to the British colonial crimes.
