Re: Wales Vs Italy - 6N Official Match Thread - Welsh wooden 🥄?
For the first time i 24 years, I can understand the statement: “Yeah you scored some tries in the end but the match was over”. It’s the first time in 24 years that I thought after 10 minutes: “Ok, we got this, we can win this.” The first time Italia controlled the game from the first minute till th...

Re: The Official Itlay v Scotland Match Thread
As I am half Scots / half Italian I don't know wether to laugh or cry. However, one of the keys for Italy is you no longer look down the Italian team sheet and cringe at some of the names. Weaknesses and weak players used to be blindingly obvious in the past but now every player is at least solid. N...

Having worked in HR for 10 years then my input is........if it's not in writing it ain't happening. I've seen countless people screwed over due to this Pretty much this. Recollections vary, and what you think may differ from others. If it was never formally articulated in writing by someone with th...

Re: Is there a pushback against the safety initiatives in Rugby
Agree with this, the physicality is a major selling point. I was speaking to a work colleague who played rugby in the forces and at a reasonable amateur level, he was saying that the tackle height crept up after professionalism because of the introduction of former Rugby League coaches and apparent...

Hogg is disliked by many in Scottish rugby. That being said he seems to have completly lost it and be on a downward spiral. There are concerns for his mental health, as in, there has to be something wrong with him to fuel this behaviour repeated again and again over a period of time. There have been...

Point of order re. Sam Overthehill, if you’re born overseas to a serving member of our country’s armed forces, you’re almost certainly de facto born in the UK. ‘British Forces Overseas’ is the correct term, I think. His old man Greg (my old man’s former boss) was a serving RAF Officer, on (a relati...

South Africa can't claim Duhan anymore. Nobody even knew him when he left. He obviously benefited massively from the coaching he received so Scotland should take the credit for making him into an international, so I wish him all the best and it's great to see him doing so well. Obviously the usual suspects will make hilarious comments about Scotland paoches, but it emerges that England had better preparation time for the Calcuttta Cup than Scotland did. It showed on the pitch. Scotland’s head coach, Gregor Townsend, has vented intense frustration at being deprived of five ...

Law 8.21 The kick must be taken within 60 seconds (playing time) from the time the team indicated their intention to do so, even if the ball rolls over and has to be placed again. So the clock correctly should not have stopped. But does law 8.27 apply? If the opposing team infringes while the kick i...

Ultimately England aren't very good and are at their level at the moment. Beating Italy and Wales relatively consistently, but losing to France, Scotland and Ireland. No one in the camp will be content about the loss. It is true though that England don't have a big derby game. That game that hurts ...

England don't give a shit about Scotland. It's just another team. It's your guys that make such a big deal of it. Ironically, to pick up a point made on the Glasgow forum, this may mean more imports. The argument is that without Super 6 there is no midway step between the amateur and pro, so fewer players develop to the level needed by pro, so they pick up players from other leagues who have had the devlopment.

Was it losing money? The WRU would be proud of that decision making. It is hard to say as the funds were included in the SRU High Performance Unit (may not be the correct name) budget. Some of the franchises at least are furious. They had built viable entities between the SRU money, sponsorship etc...

I have posted on here about how the semi pro Super Six system the SRU introduced and funded was raising standards. It started with six franchises, and now included U20, pro A teams and a Futures squad. The level of play is palpably higher than the old amateur club leagues, and it was doing what was ...

Allow me: "Represented" and "are" don't mean the same thing. Still no idea what this means. The origins of mankind are universally accepted as being African. There is nothing Eurocentric about it. Regardless of whether the words used are 'are' or 'represent' the only thing the bones found in Europe...
