Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
I was upper Hogan stand on 22. After black Sunday, it was one of the most satisfying wins. Munster have never really recovered from it. One Magners league and one URC but not what they were like during the noughties Remember then Munster lads streaming out with 10 mins to go. To the brave and faith...

I can see what Ulster are trying to do, play with high tempo and barely resource the ruck so the players are there to break, just don't have the players for it, and getting milled in the rucks

Re: Is this in the spirit of rugby?
Terrible news in my home province this week as a young Senior A player died in a workplace accident on a farm. His club is one of the strongest in the local Canterbury country club competition. His team arranged a get together at the clubrooms as a way of dealing with their loss. I am told via reli...

I also have to say: it would be HILARIOUS if Leinster failed to win anything this year or next year. It would indeed...much akin to Munster in 2020, strengthened with World Cup winners Damian de Allende and RG Snyman joining them, and winning TSROFA during 2020-2022. We have a salty 1 here lads.

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Should be interesting to see how the new centres of excellence do. We don't have the schools and the clubs have shown they don't have the resources to bring through players at schools' level. This will in theory give the best players access to the things schools players have. Main difference is it ...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
The last few days on this thread have been epic. Leinster do have certain advantages but they are, by some distance, the best run province. The role Mick Dawson played in changing Irish rugby cannot be overstated. Would Leinster have offered JVG a contract extension? Would they prefer Kleyn to Snym...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
While there is no way the two announcements are correlated in that way, Leinster's 10 CCs are a big part of the reason you can spaff 200K on something you really don't need. Produce good players and they get CCs allowing you to sign good backups to cover while they are with Ireland. Beautiful in it...

Considering where we were injury wise earlier in the season, it's great to see such a strong squad heading down. Out of the players missing only Kleyn & Baron would be possible starters with everyone fit.

Kind of a signal to Frawley to look elsewhere imo. Why? There are enough centrally contracted Leinster players floating around to allow generous terms be given to less established players. He might be tempted to leave for minutes but it won't be money. And the benefits of familiarity and remaining ...
