Re: World Rugby to curtail Bok's Bomb Squad
Players play on injured all the time (and used to in the past, back when only injury subs were allowed). Zebo today, for example. If an adult chooses to keep playing with an injury that’s silly but their choice. As to the reasoning: see the thread. This is the dumbest idea I’ve heard on PR. Congrat...

Re: World Rugby to curtail Bok's Bomb Squad
We tried that. One side in particular always managed to get the exact number of injuries every game. :D :D I like the 4 person subs bench but leave it to the coaches to determine when they come on. So players who go off injured aren’t then allowed to play in their teams next game? It’s a bit silly ...

Re: World Rugby to curtail Bok's Bomb Squad
It would be more effective to limit the number of subs no?Drop it by 1 or 2? I don't see it as WR's place to dictate the makeup of the sub bench, as stated above there are pros & cons and should be left to the coaching team to decide. Four subs.. Front row and utility player on the bench. And/or in...

Re: Rob Baxter to World Rugby, Stop messing with the scrum and maul
Scrums should remain, but be improved. What is wrong with getting rid of the hit? And rucks are also an essential part of the game. But they have big safety issues as currently played, and very inconsistent reffing. Make players stay on their feet, as rucks used to be. Yes get rid of the hit.... An...

Re: Rob Baxter to World Rugby, Stop messing with the scrum and maul
Some antipodean contributors seem to think these scrum and maul laws will get people watching rugby there again, but what if it doesn't (likely imo), all it will have achieved is ruining the sport for the rest of the world. Pretty sure England made their fans more happy in the last two games than t...

Re: World Rugby reads my Posts- 20min Red cardsds
Doesn't even need a rule change, just the refs to do their job. Totally agree. God knows what Mathew Carley thinks he’s doing in that screen cap. Waiting for a butterfly to appear? It’s like the refs have been hypnotised or something. I don’t remember having to put up with this nonsense at the ruck...

Re: World Rugby reads my Posts- 20min Red cardsds
Are you saying that what I said is not true. I’d guess the point is he doesn’t know if it’s true and it seems likely that you don’t either. So if the research shows that banging your head into things causes trauma then why wouldn't banging your head into knees, hips etc and at your own volition be ...

Re: World Rugby reads my Posts- 20min Red cardsds
Players aren't any safer playing rugby today than 20 years ago. The single biggest problem is the nature of the game. Let's give you a simple example, the biggest trauma to the head comes from the attacker getting his head down and smashing into the knees, thighs and hips of the opposition player. ...

Two foundation unions. So the same vote as all tier 2 unions in the rest of the world. Seems the eight foundation unions (which include Straya and NZ) plus Argentina, Canada and Italy all have two seats each. As do six regional associations. Now, I take it as given that senior figures in the key NH...

The above point about Mavis not having to work is key. It means they don’t need to pay for full time nursery - around £2k in London (£1.2k where I am). It was simply much easier to have a family and house in the past in the UK.

Re: Bin O’Keefe and that last scrum.
Ben OK got the decision very wrong. I saw the overhead view, 18 green started at a 45 degree angle then he went to 90 degrees as soon as the ball was in and his backrow partner ran around the side to help him push the scrum sideways. Genge's knee went down. You could have had a hundred different ca...

Difficult to say the NZ players are better given the recent results between the two sides.. Ireland have won 5 from last 8. One of which featured a red card 30mins in. That is still a huge differential from where the clashes had been. Not far from split down the middle in games won, though. Is 2016...

Hence providing their own ‘extreme provocation’ right back. Violence begets violence, and all that. An ancient and depressing cycle. We really refuse to learn from our history don’t we.

Come on Fiji!
If England get through to the semi I’ve a horrible feeling this tournament will be spun as a success by the RFU. Then there won’t be the meaningful change we need.

Excellent first half by England. Definitely not how I had hoped the game would go :? And the ref is also having a good game Agree - with both. The Boks aren't a fit side. They are drastically out of condition. ABs will grind them for 15 minutes and then run in 3-4 tries in the last 1/4. Not if the Boks can get a breather with an 'injury' or shoelace issue before every restart. The ref is going to have to be stronger than simply chivvying ...

From Tom Decent at 4:35 EST in SMH More complicated - sounds like the decision depended on Queensland. But not sure if that relates to Perth game, think it related to RC.
