Re: Women's 6 Nations 2024 thread
England were pretty scary today. That's a level of ruthlessness I haven't seen before.
Gutsy win for Scotland. Very tight encounter, but they had a little bit more in the last quarter. Have to speed up their ball if they want their backs to thrive.

Re: Women's 6 Nations 2024 thread
Very interesting backlines for both Wales and France. Will be fun seeing how that plays out, even if I'm still worried for Wales, whose confidence must be in the gutter. The Principality is looming large right now... Can't wait for Italy v Scotland. That has 'Banger' written all over it. 45k+ at Twi...

Italy really got rolling in the last quarter. Wales should be worried.

Re: Women's 6 Nations 2024 thread
Seriously, Wales need to ditch that coaching team. Impressive work from Bemand, on the other hand. Aoife Wafer looks a player. Wales will lose all 5 games. Absolutely toothless in attack, and they just defend in numbers and by spreading out. They are shite. Awful year to pick not playing well eithe...

Re: Women's 6 Nations 2024 thread
Ireland nearly get away with a smash and grab, but not to be. Feel a bit like Scotland of the last couple of years. Shy of confidence and ruthlessness. Unable to make the most of their chances. Italy regularly came away with points when they got in range.

Re: Women's 6 Nations 2024 thread
9 is a coin flip. Aitchison earned the 10 shirt in WXV, and I think she's done enough these two games to keep it.
Maybe I'm biased, but I'd pick Jones all day long, and Heard is a great foil. Rowland is a strong bench option.

Re: Women's 6 Nations 2024 thread
I thought England looked really sharp for large parts. I think that backline has a lovely balance, and the forwards were getting involved in the link ups. Credit to Wales for actually managing to dig in that last quarter. Really was threatening to get embarrassing, but the bench did a decent job and...

Re: Women's 6 Nations 2024 thread
I think Scotland emptied the tank so much on defence that they just couldn't muster the attacking threats when they did get a sniff of territory.
Big improvement just hanging in the match for 80 minutes, though. Take note, Wales!

Not a great game. England very scruffy, but the superior fitness told. Italy dogged it out in the first half, but couldn't really offer anything.

Re: Women's 6 Nations 2024 thread
Well played Irish women. A 3 try deficit was a massive turnaround and deserved on the afternoon. Fre lineout and scrum did improve but handling and attacking combinations behind 9 were unimaginative. Queyroi solid (unlike newbie Tuy) but lacks Drouin's ability to animate attacking play. B...

Decent effort. Certainly fought hard, despite the power deficit. Need to be better with the ball, and find a way to get those 7s players into the match.

Spain push Portugal all the way. 33-30 in the end.
Hugo Aubry's kicking absolutely vital.
Portugal still very messy, but recovering well from the Belgium disaster, and blooding lots of promising players.

Is this really a good idea? England thought they were playing the full national team. Portugal told them this week they weren't prepared to do that. Has made a mockery of the match. Not really true. People in the know were saying from the announcement that the Portugal team was likely to be very we...

All that said, swap Elis Martin for Amy Cokayne in today's line-up and it's EQP compliant.
A couple more English players signed, and a few more of the fringe players stepping up, and we'll be alright.

5 point deductions for Leicester and Sale. EQP violations. I don't think either team will be too bothered. Still think its a bit problematic, whilst the league is set up the way it is.
