I enjoyed the second half all the same. Pressure got to SA with some of their decision making but defence was immense throughout.

Re: Constant scrum penalties are already destroying this Rugby World Cup
I can maybe see an argument for making scrum infringements into free kicks only and not penalties , but any other claims to de-power the scrum / it’s only there to restart, does sound a bit whiney bitch from someone whose team doesn’t have a good scrum. It’s always been a big part of the game , and...

Re: Constant scrum penalties are already destroying this Rugby World Cup
South Africa are in the final because a short, slowish, hefty dude minced the England scrum. He was the most important player in that game. That’s a great thing. Proof that it’s a game for all shapes and sizes. This should be celebrated - it’s only boring because it’s difficult to appreciate how he...

Re: Constant scrum penalties are already destroying this Rugby World Cup
the "go watch league" comments are incredibly tedious. The reality is that the laws have always been fluid, at least in the memory of most fans, including of course at scrum time. The current scrum contest is a deliberate product of changes made by the IRB rather than the immortal essence of the gam...

Re: The Rugby League World Cup
Samoa were fantastic though not error free... England could not handle the pressure after falling behind with some very slack play in the first 30 mins. Contrast with the line speed at the death. I don't really know what I'm talking about but struck me that England's kicking and game management were...

Imagine being global capital's strumpet for decades to encourage economic growth, taking great pains to educate your workforce by sending them to "college" for half a decade, and you're still poorer than the backward brexiteering brits (including those on the same island).

This sort of tinkering won't have the desired impact. A meaningful change would be to change the refereeing of the ruck, and specifically the height and body angle at which players start the clear out, but that won't happen as it would be a major and unpredictable change to game dynamics. Also would...

How many people (men) die in police custody every year?

How do patterns of criminality vary by race?
Why am I even bothering to inject reason or evidence into this debate?
