Yeah. How old is he? 24, 25 or so. He has been plagued with injury throughout his short senior career.
He might be thinking that if he doesn’t go now he may not have another opportunity.
The Tahs is not the most functional environment for an up and coming young footy player.

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
Must not have a lot of confidence in his own game? I’d have him as a better all round player than both Edmed and Gordon with more potential
Some times they just want to go. There is no ”keeping” them.

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
Get selected for the WBs ahead of Hanigan seems to be one thing If Schmidt is a man of steak over sizzle, then he will be. He'll also have the (C) after his name. Wrongers has been killing it this season. Possibly the best performing Australian forward. He’s a great player. Can we start both he and...

Neville is a solid shout for TH lock. Experienced, strong and good at all the core skills of a lock. This is going to be a youngish pack so he might be a great fit.

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
Makes sense. Too early for Canham probably but he looks to have potential. Uru is mobile and does the hard yakka. He’s also solid in the lineout. Pair him with Swain and have Holloway on the pine. Rodda is the one if he can get back to peak form. Neville never lets any side down and looks in good ni...

John Eales was not a hard man but would be regarded as one of Australia’s best ever if not the best in the second row. There is much more to it than channeling your inner Bakkies Botha.

Rob Simmons and Nathan Sharpe. Not the hardest blokes running around but serviceable, doing the core jobs well. At that time we didn’t have many other decent options.

We could have a crazy lineout.
4. Swain
5. Frost
6.Valetini
7. Wright
8. Cale
What chance would the oppo have on their own throw?

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
Tough to play both McReight and Wright in the same starting side at test level. They will be our two 7s in the squad. I’d play Valetini at 6 with McReight starting at 7 and Cale/Wilson at 8. Wright on the pine. No way Harrison, Marky Mark and HJH get a look in. Foketi and Pietch also doubtful. Lots ...

Re: League players are no good in Union
I dont think Marky Mark will go that well on the dark side. It will depend who is inside him in the halves. His defence is average(of late) and he tends to turn over the pill a lot. There is no doubting the high level of skill in loig and they play a lot of games. It does not always translate well t...

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
If size is the issue then 6. Valetini 7. McReight 8. Cale Bench - Wright How does that solve the size issue? If size is the issue then 6. Valetini 7. McReight 8. Cale Bench - Wright It may well be that it’s too soon for Cale but he is by far the best Oz 8 so far this soup season. Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
The Reds played well despite going down at the death. Paisami carried on his good form. Lynagh was again excellent. His defence is decent but he does get bumped off every now and then due to his size. Our 10s will not be picked primarily on defence. Attack and kicking will be more important. That yo...

Valetini, Lolesio, Cale and Wright were excellent. Tua even better but I doubt he is eligible.
Swain also looked very good along with Lonergen.
AAA had a great run for his first game back.

Yeah. I feel like Wilson has been pretty good in a resurgent Reds pack this year. Schmidt will look for balance and the right combination. The Reds back row seems to have it. Swinton is also an option at 6 with his lineout work but is going OS after this year. It might be too soon for Cale but playi...

Having a quick look over the Super Rugby stats for Australian loose forwards I'd go for these guys: 6. Liam Wright 7. Fraser McReight 8. To be fair you can't blame the backs on a day like that. Rebels forwards were blown off the park. Tupou is overrated. He’s lazy. He’s got the tools to be the best player in the world. That was f**ked up. Brumbies looking very solid until this point.
Charlie Cale looked good in a losing side. Not many others did themselves any favours.
A dominant Blues side on the rampage.

Thats only because most of the decent kiwi 10s have departed. We are improving no doubt but are still not quite there.
