Re: League players are no good in Union
I dont think Marky Mark will go that well on the dark side. It will depend who is inside him in the halves. His defence is average(of late) and he tends to turn over the pill a lot. There is no doubting the high level of skill in loig and they play a lot of games. It does not always translate well t...

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
C Gordon to league? If talk is to believed. WTF, Nooo. Apparently Paisami is considering a move to the English Premiership. Exeter have offered him a decent deal. Carter Gordon had a meeting with the Gold Coast Titans, but the Titans, sitting second last on the NRL ladder, are not interested... Sta...

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
If size is the issue then 6. Valetini 7. McReight 8. Cale Bench - Wright How does that solve the size issue? Size matters because the Wobs regularly get bashed up front which is destabilizing to the entire team. I mean we lost to Fiji and got thrashed by a shit Welsh side last year. Not to mention ...

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
If size is the issue then 6. Valetini 7. McReight 8. Cale Bench - Wright It may well be that it’s too soon for Cale but he is by far the best Oz 8 so far this soup season. He and Valetini cover all the bases for a 6-8 combo and McReights game speaks for itself to compliment that back row. Wright can...

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
The Reds played well despite going down at the death. Paisami carried on his good form. Lynagh was again excellent. His defence is decent but he does get bumped off every now and then due to his size. Our 10s will not be picked primarily on defence. Attack and kicking will be more important. That yo...

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
Valetini, Lolesio, Cale and Wright were excellent. Tua even better but I doubt he is eligible.
Swain also looked very good along with Lonergen.
AAA had a great run for his first game back.

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
Yeah. I feel like Wilson has been pretty good in a resurgent Reds pack this year. Schmidt will look for balance and the right combination. The Reds back row seems to have it. Swinton is also an option at 6 with his lineout work but is going OS after this year. It might be too soon for Cale but playi...

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
Having a quick look over the Super Rugby stats for Australian loose forwards I'd go for these guys: 6. Liam Wright 7. Fraser McReight 8. Charlie Cale Bench Josh Kemeny Valetini has the lowest tackle percentage and the most missed tackles of any Australian loose forward so far this season. Valetini ...

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
To be fair you can't blame the backs on a day like that. Rebels forwards were blown off the park. Tupou is overrated. He’s lazy. He’s got the tools to be the best player in the world. It’s the most frustrating thing in my life... That and still being on the waiting list for Royal Sydney. Agree and ...

So, what happened to the Rebels? I agree with Ali. It was far from a vintage Crusaders performance. The Rebels were shocking. They turned over the pill regularly and got smashed in the set piece.

The arrogant little prick first destroyed Wallaby rugby from the ground up(within 9 months) and then tried to have his cake and eat it too. He should be flogged before being deported sans passport.

That was f**ked up. Brumbies looking very solid until this point.
Charlie Cale looked good in a losing side. Not many others did themselves any favours.
A dominant Blues side on the rampage.

A good performance from the Reds. Defence was incredible, frequently pushing the Highlanders back forcing them to kick or cough up. It was a great team effort missing a few of their big guns and leaders. Paisami and others really stood up. Ryan Smith in his 50th playing his best game that I have see...

Thats only because most of the decent kiwi 10s have departed. We are improving no doubt but are still not quite there. Our only test quality 10 here at home is Lolesio and he doesn’t really set the house on fire. He is steady and with a decent 9, 12 and 15 he is a good option. Gordon and Donno are g...

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
Kerevi is a good call if he is fitter than last year. Issac Henry was looking the goods but understand he is out for the year. Is that right? We saw how imbalanced a Gordon/Kervei combo was last year. Samu much more suited to running of the likes of Lolesio or one of the old blokes in Japan. Foketi ...

I am originally from just up the road in Waverley and was there all last week getting a grease and oil change and checking the ticker. I’m not sure how such an incident could be avoided and hopefully it does not spawn more of the same by copycat loons.
It’s rough for all affected. Sad days.

Re: Waratahs vs Crusaders Match Thread
The Tahs should probably start Harrison and see what he can do for the rest of the season. Edmed does his best and puts in but is barely soup standard, if that. I would also start Grant and Teddy Wilson. Sinclair made some telling plays towards the death as well. Organisation just cannot get unfucke...

Re: Waratahs vs Crusaders Match Thread
Fascinating thread :uhoh: Harrison straight to the front of the queue. No chance. He still is a little suspect in contact. However his attacking play and goal kicking is top notch. I’d pick him before Gordon on these alone however I would also have Lolesio and Lynagh ahead of him. Our 10 must kick ...

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
At this stage Speed Tool in and Marky Mark out. In his defence, nothing the Tahs are doing right now looks convincing and I am sure that many of them are well below there best. Is it worth looking at shifting Lenny Ikitau in a spot? He would make a great 12. Henry was shaping up nicely as a classic...
