Re: First time fatty; need help losing weight
Heck water has no calories but will will have a big impact on how your energy output goes. Your body will burn far less fat if your not drinking plenty of water. Alternative being cold all day will burn more calories. \ I just don't belive this (and other such claims). But I'm open to being correct...

Re: First time fatty; need help losing weight
If we are to continue to give calorific values (ie units of potential weight gain) to food, they should reflect what happens in the body rather than how much energy is released when burned in a lab. This is a huge crux of it. Calories are a badly attributed measure of energy to food. Just like the ...

Re: First time fatty; need help losing weight
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19640952/ Thought I’d bump this as it’s a fallow weekend end coming up. Gluconeogenesis has already been discussed, but I include this paper because it puts a figure on the metabolic cost of using protein for energy. Effectively it means that when it comes to using p...

Re: Cheap tablet that isn't shite
We've got the wattbike exercise bike going in the spare room but it's proving quite tricky to watch anything on my phone whilst wheezing my way though a training session - I think I need a tablet I'm not planning on spending a fortune but I hate, hate buying cheap stuff that doesn't work. I'm not s...

Re: Welsh trolls leave Sonja McLaughlin crying in her car
I read all those responses. There are some fair points. Still, gleefully joing or cheer-leading a mass pile-on on Twitter is just not the approach I would take personally. Would if she were a man? Entirely possible. Men and women are different, fact. It's traditionally a man's job. She might be over...

Re: Welsh trolls leave Sonja McLaughlin crying in her car
Trolling and abusing female reporters anonymously online, regardless of how badly they are doing their job in your subjective opionion, is imasculine, pathetic and not the actions of a real rugby man. But they're not trolling her for being a woman, are they? They're trolling her for being a plum. D...

Well that seals it for me. Idiot  What has offended you about that post? I'd certainly prefer to watch a low tier women's rugby that had decended into the muck and mire of a muddy forwards dominated slog fest than any league match. He's an insecure weirdo who stalks me around the forum. That's...

Re: Which form of rugby would you watch in order?
I'd rather watch an amateur women's scrum-fest in the mud than any form of League including SOO. All the power to those that love League, I've even tried my hardest to get into it. I just can't, it's so boring, monotonous and one-dimensional I can't believe anyone likes it. It's like they took a re...

Re: Rate Kiwi athlete Lisa Carrington
Athletes do "cycles" which might only be for 6 weeks in an entire year or even less. The rest of the time they're completely clean. They most certainly don't compete while they're in a middle of a cycle. During the cycle they get big and jacked and will often lose a significant amount of that once ...
