Not great, but 2022 shows they can produce a surplus if discipline is used Also, the debt is non-current (i.e longer than 12 months tenor) and we have no idea on the repayment schedule. Re: League players are no good in Union
As an Australian based poster, your statement that Rugby League is "far less than successful" than Rugby simply doesn't make sense. Perhaps that's the case in France and the UK? Watched an interesting video by Two Cents the other day, showing how massively popular the NRL is in Aus. Lot's of money ...

Re: League players are no good in Union
Just because it's Intense doesn't make it a great game enjoyable to everyone. Those who are used to seeing the variety of play and competition for the ball in rugby, would probably find the short pass, tackle x 5 and a kick routine boring and dumb. The shoulder charges and thugby acts in League don...

Re: League players are no good in Union
Most league players are suited to 12 because at 12, you have to be solid in defense, have vision and good hands. Outside this position RL players generally struggle with a few notable exceptions. With many notable exceptions tbf: Mat Rogers, Lote Tuqiri, Wendel Sailor, Israel Folau, Brad Thorn, Jaso...

He'd be bigger than Michael Hooper. His distribution skills isnt special. It's his ability to play at high intensity which leaves his opponents gasping struggling to keep up. He's suited for 7 especially. He'd be McCaw type player, play at high intensity for 80 mins. Are we talking about the same b...

Re: League players are no good in Union
He'd be bigger than Neil Back. As I said he'd need to add 10 kgs+. But his style would suit either position. It would take him years to add 10kg and he’d lose speed and agility. How would his style, which was the primary ball distributor, suit the role filled by Neil Back? It’s like putting Wally L...

My issue with Valentini is he seems to go missing when things get tough. I expect the big guys in the team to step up.  Coming from the guy who usually gets things wrong. I've seen a number of games where he went MIA. I've seen that in test matches and Super rugby games. He was poor in t...

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
I like the combinations Zakar posted. Would Wright go OK at 7? How did Valetini go in the last game? The previous games I saw him he didn't impress much. For a big guy he doesn't seem to bring much physicality. Wright was a 7 originally. He loves a ruck. He played well v Hurricanes. He's also the r...

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
If size is the issue then 6. Valetini 7. McReight 8. Cale Bench - Wright It may well be that it’s too soon for Cale but he is by far the best Oz 8 so far this soup season. He and Valetini cover all the bases for a 6-8 combo and McReights game speaks for itself to compliment that back row. Wright ca...

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
I’d personally be keen on adopting the Saffer tactic of bringing on the fast ‘openside’ after 30 mins or so. Let some big unit be a big unit and then bring on the Kwagga/McReight type when the big boys have slowed down.
In such a scenario, Liam Wright would fill Kolisi’s role.

IIRC Fardy started playing test rugby before McMahon. Fardy was a better player. Let's go back to the original point. Wight is not 'very small'. Not only your calves but your eyes also need attention... Liam Wright isn't big but he's not very small. There have been smaller test no 6s. Tiny pack? What the? Slipper and Fess aren’t big. Wright is a very small test 6. McReight is small. Ryan Smith isn’t big for a test lock. It’s a very small pack. Who on earth thinks Kwagga Smith is better than Ardie Savea as an all round loose forward? Ardie Savea is 95kg 1.88m and Kwagga Smith 91kg and 1.80m. With such a similar built it is strange that the one plays at nr8 while the other one is at Openside flank. Boks won't play Kwagga at 8 though if the...

Half ack ftom leahue to union would be unsuitable because space is given to the leahue halfback to pass. They usually take a step. You need to pass off the ground from union. It's down to the individual but habits is hard to change. The closest to a straight swap would be RL hooker to RU scrum-half...
