Re: Welcome to Gurro - Italian town (allegedly) settled by Scots
To our Scots friends out there… I came across this story today, about this village in Italy with Scottish ties. Legend or not, I think it is a story worth sharing From Wiki: Gurro is said to be populated by the descendants of Scottish soldiers. According to local legend, Scottish soldiers fleeing t...

Re: Menoncello 6N player of the tournament
What's the story with Minozzi? Himself Pani, Capuzzo and Lynagh make a great back three outside Garbisi, Menoncello and Brex. Italy are a 9 away from a serious backline. Minozzi has just retired, couldn’t find form after 3 years of injuries. What a shame, Polledri too… both were 27 years old. Here ...

Menoncello played very well in every single match of the tournament.
Ben Earls was good in the first 2 matches, but Roots played better IMHO.
The only one in all the matches that played constantly well is Menoncello.

... or use them just to break ties. It's dumb that Italy's record (Played 5, Won 2, Drawn 1, Lost 2) is better than Scotland's record (Played 5, Won 2, Drawn 0, Lost 3) but they're still behind. Bonus points should not make up for losing the bloody game. Winning the match is the whole point of it a...

What sort of press coverage has the last few weeks got back in Italy Has it helped raise the profile of the team and the sport? Re: Wales Vs Italy - 6N Official Match Thread - Welsh wooden 🥄?
For the first time i 24 years, I can understand the statement: “Yeah you scored some tries in the end but the match was over”. It’s the first time in 24 years that I thought after 10 minutes: “Ok, we got this, we can win this.” The first time Italia controlled the game from the first minute till the...

Re: Wales Vs Italy - 6N Official Match Thread - Welsh wooden 🥄?
Italia was better than Wales in every facet of the game in the first half. But I fear a typical italian brainfart that has plagued us in the past. And obviously a second half like Wales did in against the Scots Garbisi has had 1 brain fart (that backward kick for the winger) and a blunder (the 2pts...

Capuozzo will be missed.. Pani has a good kick and has some potential but it seemed a bit out of place against England.. it is a good test for him ( no pressure!) I am more positive about Varney True, but Pani played out of position in the wing, could work with Zebre when it happens towards the end...

Capuozzo broke a finger while Tackling Steyn on the first half, still played till the end. What a hero!
Pani can really kick looooong, he is fast, but he is no Capuozzo.
I’m a bit worried.
6+2 on the bench, looks better than the Welsh bench.
In Brexoncello we trust!

Pizza is overrated. There, I've said it. You are right. Many Italians think so. [history nerd mode: on] And it might sound incredible but the pizza we eat nowadays was born in USA, when Italian immigrants in the late XIX century met Tomato sauce, something they had never seen before. The Pizzerias ...

Wow. Just wow.
I do not think Italia will be able to repeat what did 2 years ago.
Should be a close match until latter stages.
I hope to see our guys fight like they did all the tournament, even in Dublin.
Would be fantastic to avoid that wooden spoon once in a decade

Think Italy just grabbed their public's love and buy in there. Full and loud attendance, big TV audience. These wins are big. That's massive for us. 2 positive results. This time we didn't have a man advantage, this time we went down, got up and won. We earn this win. This is a very good Scottish t...

Italia could have won, if it wasn't for that last scrum penalty.
We were a lot closer than the final result might tell.
