Re: Renewable Energy Tech
Never been totally convinced by wave energy, broadly speaking. The maths makes sense and the technology is relatively simple however the operating environment, connection process and lifecycle costs are far more complex then other simple solutions. I'm a structural engineer, so take anything I say ...

Re: The Official Welsh Rugby Thread
A game plan based on penalties is always going to depend on the referee, there’s just no attack and hasn’t been for years Yes, that is an issue, but it never fails to amaze/sadden/depress me when Welsh teams come up against middling English prem teams, the kind that are deemed to be a bit soft up f...

Yeah, 14-13 at the half to the Saes. Ospreys have been competitive across the park, but apart from the try, it's been a bit of a slog. Anyone's game at this stage.

Hard agree. Our prop stocks haven't been this low in as long as I can recall. The hookers aren't great, but they aren't our biggest issue. Our locks make me sad. Daf looks lightweight, Rowlands's form has dropped off a cliff, and Beard is a massive fanny. Doing a bit of research - not choosing ever...

Exeter won, despite the impediment of our lads. Did they improve second half? Max Llewellyn scored a cracker yesterday. His bread and butter carry off the back of a lineout... Knocking players back to stretch over. Considering Wales online were taking up Hathaway off the back of a decent try, but i...

Ospreys just about winning a low-quality arm wrestle. However, a lack of genuine grunt is likely going to cost them in these sorts of conditions.

Re: 2023/2024 European Champions Cup
Is this quin's game typical of URC sides? Glasgae don't appear to be able to do anything but give penalties away at every possible opportunity. They are getting ridden something atrocious by the refs (and I'm not a Weegie fan by any means). That penalty for what was clearly a 50/50 catch was ridicu...

He is, by some considerable distance, the best flyhalf playing in Wales at the moment...and that is either a testemant to his outstanding abilities, or a dire indictment of the lack of quality fly halves in Wales at the moment*
*I'll give you a hint...it's the latter.

Jenkins is already capable and should get better. Tshiunza has been really stop start in his career... Just needs to play and ideally one position. Re: Baltimore bridge has collapsed.
Anything is possible if you have enough money. Design and building such a structure would be financially unfeasible. The best way to think about it is that the pier itself wasn't strong enough, and so to protect it, you'd have to build something stronger than the pier, and then multiply that throug...

It did indeed, but the force that it had to apply to stop it, destroyed it. The ship is 300m long apparently. Something that size doesn’t slow down just because there’s a bridge in the way. Well it did when it hit it. It came to a complete stop. What's that Ospreys team like? Have to admit I only recognise a few names. Average would be the word. Due to reduced budgets and therefore reduced squads, we've had to draft in a handful of South African ringers on short term deals to plug spots (Rudolph and Boshoff). The pack is about as good as w...

Legally I can understand why the aru did what they did. In my experience relocation fees wouldn’t typically sit inside an employment contract but a side letter. I’ve seen it done a couple of ways. 1) the company just does it all and you don’t lift a finger. Just be there when the movers rock up. 2)...

Coming back to something I mentioned previously, my biggest issue is how poor we looked with the ball. We played all the rugby in that game. We dominated possession and territory. We ran 50% more metres, made twice as many passes and carries, and beat 10 more defenders. Dyer, North and Adams all ca...
