Not mentioned before but very atmospheric and a slow burner, gritty : The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford So slow that I lost interest Yeah, you've got to hold in there. Re: Force vs Harry Plummer - Match Thread

I think a couple of soft wins prior to the bye will do the Blues some good, they were looking really nervy in the earlier games, so will give them some confidence heading into quite a hard slog schedule in the back end of the season.

While it's hard to put Weepu in the top three, his efforts during the 2011 RWC often go un-noticed. A great stabilising influence during the tournament when 10's were dropping like flies. He became a folk hero during that tournament. remember this? https://static3.stuff.co.nz/piri-e02889c4.jpg Yes ...

Re: Blues v Crusaders @ Eden Park - Saturday

Yup some silly mistakes but will take the win. Strong game from Tuipolotu was a happy positive. Two lovely breaks by Perofeta but both times he threw a silly pass that was intercepted by a Crusaders defender. Also that great break by Clarke should have lead to a try. We certainly lack creativity wh...

Re: Blues v Crusaders @ Eden Park - Saturday

Blues need to realise the pressure is on the Crusaders and stop being so rushed and panicky, they are playing like they are behind with 5 minutes left in the match. They need to realise with their personnel they’re better off boring teams to death like they did against the Highlanders. Maybe Christi...

Re: The Official Capt Hurricane Hurricanes vs Blues Match Thread.

Blues had an absolute shocker and the Canes generally played well but the Blues were still somewhat in it, so I suppose there are positives in that, if they can learn and improve from this result. I hope they go back to the more basic approach of the first two games and try and grind teams down. Can...

Seems the Blues have set aside their more conservative game plan from the last two games, a lot of hurried passes and 50/50 offloads. Just need to hold onto the ball.

I hate the “coalition of chaos” label, that kind of thinking entrenches a two-party system. Broad coalitions and collaboration should be encouraged. It’s not like “broad church” parties can’t be equally chaotic internally.

Not forward. Weird camera angle in the far corner.

I’ve seen passes that look forward on TV but were clearly backwards when watching at the ground in line with it. I trust the match officials on the ground made the right call. :smug:

McCaw doesn't look good either. Why? He's not a politician, he's allowed to have an opinion and it's not exactly a left field opinion when a ref puts his whistle away for basically an entire half. As Barnes said, what calls should he have made? Easy for Richie to sit there and say that, I guess. Ki...

Re: World Rugby concedes AB's try should not have been disallowed

Perhaps, in his wisdom, Barnes saw that the slight fumble was caused by the illegal actions of the SA player and in the interest of “letting the game flow” and “letting the players decide it” he decided to let it slide and then Mr TMO, locked away in his cupboard, absent from the feel, the flow and ...

If Barnes had such a great final why did the TMO seem to get involved so much more than usual? He seemed to be calling things incorrectly ...
