Re: Blues v Crusaders @ Eden Park - Saturday
Yup some silly mistakes but will take the win. Strong game from Tuipolotu was a happy positive. Two lovely breaks by Perofeta but both times he threw a silly pass that was intercepted by a Crusaders defender. Also that great break by Clarke should have lead to a try. We certainly lack creativity wh...

Re: Blues v Crusaders @ Eden Park - Saturday
Blues need to realise the pressure is on the Crusaders and stop being so rushed and panicky, they are playing like they are behind with 5 minutes left in the match. They need to realise with their personnel they’re better off boring teams to death like they did against the Highlanders. Maybe Christi...

Re: The Blues returning optimism 2024 Thread
Any of you guys planning to start a match thread? Or has complacency set in, and games against bottom of the table sides aren't worth discussing? :(( It’s hard to get excited for this fixture these days due to Crusaders dominance, would be on-brand for the Blues to hand the Crusaders their first wi...

Re: The Official Capt Hurricane Hurricanes vs Blues Match Thread.
Blues had an absolute shocker and the Canes generally played well but the Blues were still somewhat in it, so I suppose there are positives in that, if they can learn and improve from this result. I hope they go back to the more basic approach of the first two games and try and grind teams down. Can...

Re: The Official Capt Hurricane Hurricanes vs Blues Match Thread.
Seems the Blues have set aside their more conservative game plan from the last two games, a lot of hurried passes and 50/50 offloads. Just need to hold onto the ball.

Not minding this style from the Blues, keep it patient, keep relentless, just need to not get frustrated when inevitable errors occur.

Tbf, Scott Hamilton was a very good player and was seriously underrated by know-nothing North Islanders. It's because he looked like a nerd, like a safe white boy. If he'd played exactly the same way that he did, but had full arm-sleeve tattoos and Kupu Vanisi dreadlocks, he'd have been widely hail...

I hate the “coalition of chaos” label, that kind of thinking entrenches a two-party system. Broad coalitions and collaboration should be encouraged. It’s not like “broad church” parties can’t be equally chaotic internally.

Not forward. Weird camera angle in the far corner.
I’ve seen passes that look forward on TV but were clearly backwards when watching at the ground in line with it. I trust the match officials on the ground made the right call.

McCaw doesn't look good either. Why? He's not a politician, he's allowed to have an opinion and it's not exactly a left field opinion when a ref puts his whistle away for basically an entire half. As Barnes said, what calls should he have made? Easy for Richie to sit there and say that, I guess. Ki...

Sour grapes aside, has anyone seen a try called back that far before? Fascinating, and in a World Cup final no less.
World Cup knockouts almost seem like a different sport.

Re: World Rugby concedes AB's try should not have been disallowed
Perhaps, in his wisdom, Barnes saw that the slight fumble was caused by the illegal actions of the SA player and in the interest of “letting the game flow” and “letting the players decide it” he decided to let it slide and then Mr TMO, locked away in his cupboard, absent from the feel, the flow and ...

Re: Barnes wants New Zealanders locked up...
If Barnes had such a great final why did the TMO seem to get involved so much more than usual? If I recall correctly he missed the Cane and Kolisi tackles, the knock on that called back the try etc. Was he letting things slide and the TMO wasn’t having it? He seemed to be calling things incorrectly ...

Cane never lowers his height and is always high. Kriel doesn't change direction suddenly or dip significantly, as such Cane is always high (foul play). Where foul play occurs from the tackler (always high) mitigation isn't taken into account in theory. What? Kriel, stoops, turns around and runs int...

Surely now that the heat of the battle has cooled down the judiciary will realise the low impact/speed, will see reason and downgrade the card, rightfully clearing Sam’s name.
