Re: Samoa v Scotland - Eden Park - Friday night

Scotland a class above this messy Samoan side from this correspondent who was pitchside. Fair play to Samoa who were bigger, fatter, slower and less coordinated, but they never gave up and were rewarded for their endeavour. The score was a fair reflection. Noisy crowd jdawg. Actually there are a few amateurs from Samoan club rugby as well. New coach has a KPI to give some locals a go Admirable but that approach is never going to work against professional teams. There’s a method to this madness. They’re trying to get promising players from the HPU in front of the eyes o...

Re: Wallabies vs B&I Lions - 1st Test - OFFICIAL!!!!!

I thought that welsh flanker, Morgan, should’ve been there somewhere on the bench. I'm surprised he isn't starting TBH. One area I think the Lions haven't been great so far is turning over ball at the breakdown. They have struggled a bit more against teams with a specialist 7 and BOK is the type of...

Good scouting opportunity for MLR and Pro D2 clubs, but I fear Samoa will be up against it between missing players and a lack of cohesion from no prior tests. Samoa v Scotland - Eden Park - Friday night

Why are they playing at EP? Depending on who you ask, it’s because Apia Park is about to undergo major renovations or it is something to do with the lights being out following the major power blackouts across Upolu earlier this year. Yeah I saw it again this morning and the best you could say for Gallen is a draw if you’re being charitable. However, the more I look at it the more I think SBW won that on points. There’s also the “look at his battered face” way of deciding things and if we go to that, then SBW won hands down. Anyw...

I liked SBW the Stan sports guy. Had genuine passion but clearly had a bias for his mates like that guy from Tokoroa. His meltdown over Eddie Jones was quite funny. I think this test should’ve gone to Whangarei. At the very least, the bay of islands isn’t too far away from there and it’s a rare opportunity to bring a top test team to the great Okara Park.
