Well, the team's one title seems far away in the sands of time now, we are a long way away from that squad. Still, hope springs eternal. Maybe we can surprise, and some quality emerge that we're not presently aware of. It might be another long season though...

I'd say most of the reason he's getting called a plum is for abusing the ref in that manner, and for prior incidents and general personality. He's a terrific player, no doubt there.

Six months is the recommendation here in Canada, fwiw. We didn't last nearly that long, but still woke up every time the babies cried in the other room. But I'm so old, is Ferberizing a baby still a thing?

France has played, what, 33 matches vs Fiji's 8 in the same timeframe. There were obvious gaps in cohesion / understanding. Not to fault France, it is what it is. But there you have it. Money, resources.
