Re: The Official UCI Pro Cycling Thread

The next two classics are too hilly for MVDP . Will he try Liege Bastogne Liege Fancy Pog to win it His Da won Liege, and he’s a better climber. It’s a tougher race these days, though. Hard to see past Podge if he stays upright. With no Remco, there’s not really anyone who’ll be able to respond whe...

It's the trickle-down system, so. IF anything its the exact opposite. Schools being the bedrock (get next to no IRFU funding) feeding the systems above. The whole IRFU set up is devoted to the national team. You're confusing it with the spiv model where the union hopes private clubs - who get no mo...

Great win by Pidcock at Amstel at the weekend. Really exciting race and showed that vdP is by no means invincible if there are other teams strong enough and with enough personnel to make Alpecin work harder.

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

Utterly pointless signing. Of course, it’ll be funny if Jordie arrives next year, plays the league games during the 6N, and the away games in Safferland, and then, because all our backs are in such good form, doesn’t make the 23 for the Euro games or playoffs. Similarly for Snyman. And by funny, I o...

Reading Thornley's match report: Tadhg Furlong tackled the lumbering Wallaby lock and dumped him on the ground, prompting a loud roar. Two phases later, with Skelton still on the ground, Furlong drove Ultan Dillane back in the tackle and dumped La Rochelle’s Irish lock on the ground too. If ever th...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

Having been a ST holder since the old Donnybrook days, two things in particular drove Leinster. One was 2006 and the win away in Toulouse followed by the disgraceful scenes in and around LR for the SF. I think the team as well as the fans remembered that. The second was the move to the RDS in 2007....
