Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Tom Ahern (shoulder) and Jack Crowley (foot) picked up knocks against Connacht on Saturday. They will be assessed as the week progresses and a decision regarding their availability for Edinburgh will be made later in the week. In Academy player news, we can confirm that back-row forward Daniel Okek...

Jeff Buckley at the Tivoli in Dublin. https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/jeff-buckley/1995/tivoli-theatre-dublin-ireland-73f40665.html I knew a couple of his songs from the radio, and it was advertised a bit beforehand, so I knew it was on, but I was a shy 16 year old and not the sort to ask my parents ...

Going by these comments I'll have to look back over the match thread to find out how we played! Brother brought my 5 year old nephew to a game last year, he became best friends with the aul lad next to him, and was talking to him the whole way trough, brother was delighted. I’m delighted to have Max Deegan playing for Leinster next season, I think he’s a top quality player who could push for international honours, and it would be weird to see him play for anyone else. I’ll be very disappointed to not see Max Deegan starting every Euro game for his team next season, I t...

Not sure I like the option of removing the scrum option from a free kick. Sounds like a way of avoiding the real issue - better reffing of the scrum. On the topic, I saw this posted https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GNJyTrXX0AAsYMG?format=jpg&name=900x900 Incredible how much the game has changed in the 3...

Re: What makes the current Ireland squad so good?
Have we previously had a thread from any of the other countries asking “Why is our current squad so good?” I cannot remember it happening? The thread was started by a non-Irish poster, I believe? Ireland were notoriously shit for the first 100 or so years of rugby’s existence, the occasional purple...

I agree that they've played a big part. We don't tend to produce great backs these days. Gibson Park, Lowe and Aki were project players while Hansen cane from Australia (Irish mother). All backs. Due to the age of the squad its possible we'll see Ireland take a step backwards in the next year or so...

Conway was close to first choice when he left, but that was sudden. I thought Conway was injured a bit in his last season with Leinster, and just didn’t get all the games he could have. I got the impression that when he left he was definitely in the plans, and they were sorry to see him go. Was it ...

We were up high in the Hill, so could see everything, but very far most of the time. Watching Ross try to run after his intercept was hilarious. I appreciate that they really commit to the bit on it, but
“A heavyweight or just too late

is just trying a little too hard to get that line in there.
