Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
This new Leinster CEO certainly seems to know how to get a deal over the line. Lets wait until work permits and visa is sorted before claiming victory “What? We were supposed to register Jordie for Europe before he arrived in the country? Ooops. Well at least he can play in the URC, right?”

Re: Jordie Barrett to Leinster !
Leinster fans running around the internet like Chemical Ali, telling everyone that everything is fine in Irish rugby, so. I know it's a troll, but I'll bite anyway. Ireland are currently ranked No. 2 in the world, after more than a year being ranked at 1. Ireland won the 6N this season after ...

Munster myths dispelled mainly by Redder about Leinster having advantage of most of their players going to fee paying single sex (bit weird) schools. Munster team that started against Saints and were the players came from, 9 Munster lads 6 went to fee paying schools, over half went to single sex sc...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
The solution is simple. Munster, Ulster, and, to a lesser extent, Connacht need to get their acts together. This. Leinster can probably help. As has been suggested, there ought to be some sharing of IP between the provinces, and no, Leinster’s big advantage isn’t having some fancy private schools.

The next two classics are too hilly for MVDP . Will he try Liege Bastogne Liege Fancy Pog to win it His Da won Liege, and he’s a better climber. It’s a tougher race these days, though. Hard to see past Podge if he stays upright. With no Remco, there’s not really anyone who’ll be able to respond whe...

Re: Jordie Barrett to Leinster !
It's the trickle-down system, so. IF anything its the exact opposite. Schools being the bedrock (get next to no IRFU funding) feeding the systems above. The whole IRFU set up is devoted to the national team. You're confusing it with the spiv model where the union hopes private clubs - who get no mo...

Great win by Pidcock at Amstel at the weekend. Really exciting race and showed that vdP is by no means invincible if there are other teams strong enough and with enough personnel to make Alpecin work harder.

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Utterly pointless signing. Of course, it’ll be funny if Jordie arrives next year, plays the league games during the 6N, and the away games in Safferland, and then, because all our backs are in such good form, doesn’t make the 23 for the Euro games or playoffs. Similarly for Snyman. And by funny, I o...

John Wayne Bobbitt (remember him?) is managing to continue, somehow, to make headlines for having MORE appendages chopped off.

Re: Heineken cup quarter final - Leinster vs La Rochelle
Reading Thornley's match report: Tadhg Furlong tackled the lumbering Wallaby lock and dumped him on the ground, prompting a loud roar. Two phases later, with Skelton still on the ground, Furlong drove Ultan Dillane back in the tackle and dumped La Rochelle’s Irish lock on the ground too. If ever th...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Having been a ST holder since the old Donnybrook days, two things in particular drove Leinster. One was 2006 and the win away in Toulouse followed by the disgraceful scenes in and around LR for the SF. I think the team as well as the fans remembered that. The second was the move to the RDS in 2007....

Re: Heineken cup quarter final - Leinster vs La Rochelle
Nobody from Leinster should moan about Dickson, he's useless but favoured Leinster massively. Penalty count was 15-12 in favour of La Rochelle. Not bemoaning the ref but he didn't massively favour Leinster, that's nonsense. I am not going to go and check but I feel Leinster gave away 4 or 5 penalti...

ROG makes good career moves. Munster is not a good career move. They don't have the players with which he can do anything. I didn’t think Byrne’s pass to Lowe was as forward as Lowe’s passes to Sheehan and Baird. And none of them were what qualifies for a forward pass in today’s game.

Until the final whistle. Understandable. But those with no skin can see that's the game, even with 25mins to go. They've got nothing and Leinster winning the collisions.
