Re: **OFFICIAL** English Rugby Thread
Absolutely gutted. To have the game in your hands then submit at the death is awful. Loved the warrior spirit of the group but ultimately not enough quality to get it done.

In 2019 we played our Final against New Zealand in arguably the best game of rugby I've ever seen England play. We had nothing left against South Africa who by comparison use RWC Finals as a national healing exercise.

First time back to PR since pre-Covid and it's amusing to see the usual reaction to England winning a rugby match. That was an epic performance given the context. Didn't think they had that level of belligerence in them.

It is remarkable how they persist with their false comparisons. Due to our connectivity and interdependence Europe is one big petri dish and the virus was endemic in the UK before there was any hope of containing it.

Oh aye, its part and parcel of sporting contests the world over. Though football in England actually began as an organised punch-up between villages. I think in many respects the ball and the goal were just a handy excuse.Zakar wrote:Tribalism being ingrained in sport, how uniquely English

I stopped following football years ago because it had turned into such a shit-show. But I am really pleased for England supporters who have had to endure decades of misery and now have a final to enjoy. Shame there's always a few tossers around to suck any goodwill out of proceedings.

Booing the Danish anthem, Danish own goal, dodgy penalty, laser pointer, 2 x balls on the pitch. Surely a draw and England winning on most completed passes countback would have been a fairer result? Controversy is the life blood of grand sporting spectacles. They are remembered even more fervently ...

UK more likely needed the workers, lobbied to expand the EU east and welcomed those guys with opened arms. Only to blame the EU later for those internal decisions.
