Re: Is DuPont > Aaron Smith?

How about this scenario, time up on the clock and you're 4 points down and in your own 10 metre line with possession. Which halfback do you want, DuPont or Smith? DuPont might sneak a 60 metre run in. But you're definitely sure that Smith will get the other 14 players in his team involved. His quic...

I think DuPont is the perfect archetype of what a halfback/scrum half should be. Smiths problem is he is always the smallest guy on the pitch. Agree or disagree? I funnily disagree with that. I would think that the English, Irish, Scots, Welsh, Argentinians, and the Italians would only be too pleased if DuPont stood down from international rugby for three years. One thing’s for sure, TJ Perenara has probably played his last test for the All Blacks. To me he's the most similar player to Dupont... just nowhere near as good... Really? If you're thinking as a one off test, DuPont might be better. But the greater the number of tests the more I would prefer Smith. He probably is. A more interesting question is, has Ntamack risen to become the top number 10 in world rugby? I don't know but he seems to be the most composed one, that's for sure. Attacking wise though, despite the fantastic attacking performance he had against NZ, I would still rate the likes of...

Dont forget the circumstances (Smith arriving in Europe just one week before without having played any single game for 3 months).
Any sensible coach would have subbed him at that point instead of risking an injury for one of his best players.

I don't think they were that good beating the ABs. They did however outmuscled the ABs especially defending. Once Havili got hit a few times he just started going sideways and bracing for contact. It meant the ABs attack couldn't get going. Well, their ball retention and attacking sets in term of p...
