1.5 years ago now. He had a stent put in, but I guess he builds up blockages easily so will likely need more as he grows older and other tubes block up. I don't know if its mental or physical, but he doesn't push himself anymore. Stopped running etc. I think he just goes for walks/gyms it. One of m...

Re: Listen to your body

My friend had a heart attack aged 33. Was fit, ran half marathons etc, not overweight at all. Just bad genetics. Turns out his grandfathers on both sides died in their 40s. His dad is fine, but his uncle died in his 40s too. All of heart attacks. He thought staying fit could fight it off, but nope....

Re: Listen to your body

A fresh faced 40. Way to start the decade. Very quickly become experts in our chosen field, though you'd always rather pass on the practical. That makes me feel better as I had just turned 70 a couple of weeks before my surgery. 40 is very young for this but you are now set for a decent long and he...

Early Thursday morning, I had a mild heart attack, no massive pains or sweating or the like, but a general feeling of my chest being squeezed. I 100% can confirm the importance of listening to your body. However I must point out that stents are common as muck and barely heart surgery at all. I...
