Re: The OFFICIAL English and European Football (soccer) thread
While the statement was less than professional. There are 2 clear penalties to Forest. The handball is iffy but the 1st and 3rd are clear. VAR should be getting those decisions right. The standard of officiating is appalling.

It's OK Salah will sold to Saudi for £70m or whatever and nobody will bat an eyelid. All the PL teams are hypocrites when it comes to Saudi, happy to take the cash when it suits though.

Quins have been brilliant. Very surprising scoreline. Baxter impressing at prop and Porter has been excellent.

Great game and a great try for Saints.

I am afraid - but the almost 200 aid workers killed alone since this disaster started out it is a clear statement about how the military machine is not able to discriminate targets at all, when striking, regardless of what officials say. Therefore This has to stop asap For the sake of argument - I ...

Re: Rob Baxter to World Rugby, Stop messing with the scrum and maul
I agree with Baxter. All we need to do is quicken up the scrum by stopping the clock after the 1st reset until the ball leaves the scrum.
I'm not paying good money to watch the fatties take up 10 minutes of the game with resets.

This really is shocking now. The US And UK are complicit in Israels actions. For utter shame. Re: The OFFICIAL English and European Football (soccer) thread
Harvey Barnes with a winner 4-3 Neither of Newcastle's penalties were penalties IMO. Especially the first with it being obviously offside too Thought we were very lucky. I'm not sure what the ruling was on the 1st one and why it wasn't offside. The 2nd one was harsh in the extreme, I mean Gordon ge...

Re: **OFFICIAL** English Rugby Thread
Interesting weekend. The Falcons game was a debacle. We were 15 vs 12 deep into extra time. The number of penalties conceded by Tigers was ludicrous and Dickson didn't seem to think to stop the clock running down while all the scrums being reset meaning Tigers got 2 players back on the pitch before ...

Re: The OFFICIAL English and European Football (soccer) thread
I agree in the 1st World Cup, the squad wasn't great but it's been decent in the last 2 tournaments. England squads have an unfortunate habit of ageing terribly in hindsight, once the true ability of those players becomes clearer over the course of a few seasons. Most people thankfully now accept t...

Re: The OFFICIAL English and European Football (soccer) thread
I definitely think Southgate has underachieved with England considering the group of players he had to choose from over the years. Go have a look at the sides that Southgate was starting in his previous tournaments. Dele Alli, Jesse Lingard, Eric Dier, Ashley Young, Jordan Henderson, Kalvin Phillip...

Re: The OFFICIAL English and European Football (soccer) thread
So there you go, another game against a team ranked near them and England don’t win. You mean that an understrength England played a friendly against the No 4 side in the world and outplayed them a high-quality draw? Honestly, the relentless misery of England football fans is baffling. Nothing is e...

Re: The OFFICIAL English and European Football (soccer) thread
Stones is fine IMO, paired up with slabhead is not great though I also think there are better keepers out there than Pickford - he's not bad but its rare i think he's currently the best English keeper. Not a fan of Stones but picking Maguire is ludicrous. I don't think little arms is the best Engli...

Re: Why have Newcastle been so poor this season?
Stop being so hysterical, you absolute fanny. All I said was that Newcastle can't be arsed to spend to be competitive, and you're having a massive tantrum over it. As we all know well, wage bills are only half the story when it comes to profitability in rugby. Exeter shed a load of highly-pai...

Re: The OFFICIAL English and European Football (soccer) thread
If we had Campbell, Terry and Ferdinand in the squad, I'd agree. But we don't. The best team at defending almost always wins international team sports tournaments. We just can't with the current roster. I do agree though that a proper coach wouldn't be playing Maguire. It's because he's picking Sto...

Re: Why have Newcastle been so poor this season?
You seem really angry, but you're also agreeing with me. Newcastle might make a loss because they aren't a great commercial prospect (low attendance, poor sponsorship deals), but that doesn't change the fact that their wage bill is the lowest by miles. I think you're confusing spend and profi...

Southgate is shit, can't wait till he fucks off. The squad currently compares to any team in the world but it's the manager holding us back. IF England do win, it will probably be in spite of him. This is the answer. They are spending the least on wages in the Prem by a country mile. They don't attract the talent, and what little they develop tends to go elsewhere for more cash. This is what ringfencing and high salary caps have done to the Prem. We basically have three cohorts of clubs this...

Re: Why have Newcastle been so poor this season?
The honest answer to the question is not sufficient demand and lower crowds and therefore less income to spend on players. All our young talent moves on, Pepper, Brantingham and Johnson the latest ones. It's a vicious cycle that is difficult to break. I can't imagine the Saudis will invest but a min...

Well exactly, that Leicester back row is very good and he was man of the match so he's definitely good enough. What Earl has shown is that footwork is more important than just brute strength in order to make yards as a forward. Mercer is also good in the lineout. Back row is a huge area of strength...

The Daly selection was expected given the squad but still depressing given what Waboso had brought to the side.
Martin and Chessum went brilliantly last week so hopefully they can help counter the French pack.
I'm not expecting a win but hopefully we put up a good showing.

McParland is literally useless at digging a ball out of a ruck. It's so bizarre that it would be entirely believable if someone said he'd never played scrum half in his life. England have been superb 2nd half. I like Mcparland the scrum half, chippy wit kant with a decent kick. First half, France could and should have been further ahead but credit to us sticking at it.
