Re: The Official Welsh Rugby Thread

Randomly my YouTube threw up the full match of Wales v Fiji at the 2011 RWC last night. You watch that and see how we play and the personnel available and then compare to now and the difference is horribly stark. We had two decent props. Some lock options including Charteris, AWJ and Bradley Davies...

Re: The Official Welsh Rugby Thread

I'd like to see Max Llewelyn given another go - I know he's not been setting the world alight at Gloucester, but he's shown in the past that he can be a physical threat at 12, as well as having some nuance to his game. He's also played with Grady a lot. Like to see him included on the Summer tour. ...

A good few of those were 2nd places on points diff and contained a few triple crowns also. Scotland have a serious issue in that they rely on players developing elsewhere and produce precious little themselves That is myth. The Irish just won with 3 Kiwis in their backline but no one questions them...

The answer is simple. We put Mason to 12 and combine with him with a world class 13 who is hiding somewhere.

15. Cam Winnett – Still makes rookie mistakes, which is unsurprising given that he is in fact a rookie. He’s had a lot of plaudits this campaign, and a fair amount of them deserved...but I don’t think I’ll ever be convinced by the prospect of an 80kg/12.5 stone soaking wet pro. 4/10 Not my pony, no...

Re: The Official Welsh Rugby Thread

I still think Costelow can be useful but that was dire. The best part about his game coming through was his ability to take the ball to the line. He's become utterly gun shy. All we're left with is a short kicking game and ball being shovelled on. I felt sorry for the players who had to be at the b...

Can't see any point whatsoever in changing the coaching staff. Gatland is as good as its going to get - lack of suitable player resources is going to impact the same way on ANY coach. The players to come back in from injury will make a difference but it's going to be a tough few years. Maybe we jus...

I guess you weren’t around in the 80s and 90s? Didn’t really start following rugby until the mid 90s. Vaguely remember watching 5N with my dad before then. Well, in ‘98 I think, we shipped almost 100 points to SA. At various points in the 90s, we were playing Bryon Hayward. Funnell. Gareth Evans. P...
