Re: Munster v Leinster, a thread.
They’re all a bad combination. Archie rarely gets bested in the scrum and is a big effective lump in a maul etc. just can’t carry and is guaranteed to leak two dumb penalties a game. Scannell has good darts and appears to be an effective scrummager but is a hopeless carrier and has the physicality o...

Re: Munster v Leinster, a thread.
Carberry instead of Healy/Crowley combo starting/bench, Cloete starting ahead of Hodnett/Kendellan, Scannell starting ahead of Barron/Buckley combo. :| I'd have gone with Josh W ahead of Loughman but not much in it either way, both a step down on Killer at the moment. Archer/Ryan is meh, annoyed it...

Re: United Rugby Championship 2021/22 Thread
Having loads of international players didn’t do much for scarlets today. Ultimately it’s about building a settled squad…over several years with good coaching. Abd then making those players produce. The amount of french teams that have loaded up with highly paid internationals over the years with ave...

Re: United Rugby Championship 2021/22 Thread
Brace obviously shouldn’t ref Munster. No team should be reffed by a ref from home country….unless it’s a derby . Unfortunately Scottish ref Mike adamson cried off injured so a suitable replacement couldn’t be found. Refs in the league are hit and miss. Like the players there is a lot of developmen...

Re: United Rugby Championship 2021/22 Thread
I’d imagine my decisions to travel the horrors of the cork to Limerick road twice wouldn’t be helped if I’d to watch the Shiite the dragons serve up regularly. Easier said than done. Low attendances lead to less money in the kitty. Vicious circle Nail. Head. Winning games = bigger crowds. I remembe...

Re: United Rugby Championship 2021/22 Thread
Attendances tho will always to be linked to performance. Like I’m a Munster st holder and will usually attend maybe 70% of home games in either cork or Limerick but in enough matches I’ll either attend a win or a decent performance. I’d imagine my decisions to travel the horrors of the cork to Limer...

God this is a dull yet sadly repetitive argument Bluntly it’s up to every union to maximise the use of their income. It’s a tricky dance. Keep as many homegrown players in a local team should build success but with success leads to the vultures of France/England particularly coming to swoop them awa...

I almost overcame genetics and over fifty years of societal conditioning, but couldn't quite find it within myself to feel sorry for Cark. I wavered for a few moments though, so next time I'm home, I'm going to go down to the Redemptorists and wrap myself in some barbed wire and throw myself at som...

Ok. Better to have won a pointless game than lost it, so there’s that. Some evidence of progression in game plan and against a pack that shouldn’t have been as weak as it was on the day. Meh. Feeling Leinster learned more about a few of their guys than we did. Good luck next week Leinsterites. Uneq...

Get Rog home. It's time. Do you think ? I get the feeling he’d be too clever to take it just now. Think he’ll wait for a proper clamour for him. Actually ticketless a better question is who, with any level of experience is out there that is going to be a step up. Mcgahan was a first time coach. Penney had been overlooked in kiwiland despite 4itm cups. Erasmus hadn’t coached in a while. Jvg was a forwards coach at the boks It’s always a risk...

Hooker and progress Knox or salanoa to the level that they can be 30 minute bruisers would be a start. But we’re very far off it at hooker. Buckley could be 2 years off

I'm not sure about Van Graan as DoR. Every minute he spends on the training pitch is a minute he can't spend signing South Africans. Still the fecker in an office and we'll be overrun. I think he sees the issues. Understands that we’ve been blown out of the water physically again and again and look...

Agree on an awful lot of that. Jvg is a ceo and probably a decent one at that but I’m unconvinced he’s a decent coach. Is larkham the one to start picking the team tho? Toulouse ball-handling skills were v impressive. Seemed to me that our lads saw them and decided to give it a go too - it worked to some extent, but Toulouse were another level. It seems obvious to me that we have several ppl players who need to do nothing but ball handling drills for a week in pre...

Bit of a sickener for Munster, could definitely have won. On the last Toulouse try, it was almost like different angles showed different things, I've always maintained if it's that hard to tell whether it's a try or not you should stick with your guns and give it. It definitely went off his head, i...

Aki YC was stone cold. You go one handed and put the ball down you are likely as not walking. Thought the pen on Wooton in the corner was total BS. For a line out meltdown to get a win is in the realms of “take it and run.” My jury on Healy is no longer out. He’s got some developing to do for sure,...

Congratulations Leinster. We played well in a lot of ways but all these matches come down to scoreboard pressure. Ultimately the 6 point swing before halftime was crucial. Nearly never bulled a cow. Getting “closer” isn’t worth a shiite we needed to put the foot on the throat when we got into 22. Un...

Just not the same without pre game pints It's rubbish. Typically I would be having a few prematch pints in the Turks Head supporting whoever Quins are playing before settling in for the proper game on the big screen followed by some live music and a curry.
