Re: **OFFICIAL** English Rugby Thread

Remind me, Furbank played a couple of years ago in Paris at FB, didn't have a great day (rabbit in headlights). Played once in the Autumn at 10. Now put at FB for the last game of the 6N. What is he doing at centre? is he treading water until Farrell comes back? Does he really think Slade is a good ...

Re: **OFFICIAL** English Rugby Thread

My guess would be a reporter has seen them in training. Hopefully it is a contingency move, suggesting Furbank may be on the bench at 23, possibly as the only back (no Ford)?

Would make sense if Marchant was on the wing as centre cover... Slade at 13? dunno

Re: **OFFICIAL** English Rugby Thread

Swap out Ewels with Launchbury and its not a terrible pack. Nowell balances the backline a little better, but I don't understand why Malins is on the wing. We have enough ball players in the backline, what we need is a finisher and someone who can bust some holes around the field

Re: **OFFICIAL** English Rugby Thread

So decent autumn all things considered. The pack did get monstered a bit against SA, but is probably serviceable against most opposition. Everyone seems to have gone quiet over Lawes at 6. He has been good, but still seems we are compensating for the locks being a bit underwhelming. Hill has been mu...

Thought we would see changes in the backrow, locks too, considering the game time some of them have had and physicality of the tour games. Must feel the others are a significant step down

Also, remember Gats has his favourites, players he really rates and knows can do a job. Been vocal in support of them before. They will almost certainly get picked, almost regardless of form.. Daly picked for the squad for instance despite being meh all year. A. Watson is very highly rated. Gats lov...

Re: The official Lions 2021 thread

It's quite simple, Lawes is a harder carrier and hitter (he's a huge feature of the England dominant tackle stats), while Beirne has better footwork and skills and will contribute more defensively at the ruck (and those couple of turnovers he makes per game have a huge impact). It's slightly horses...

Re: 6N - Official Ireland v England thread, Feb 2nd, KO @ 16

Quick question about the scrum for those who know anything about it. Did both teams just settle for a draw there? Pretty much every scrum was clean, locked and then the ball played. I was expecting Ireland to use it as a weapon and braced for 9 resets a time. looked like it. Mako and Sinkler are av...

Seriously though, probably;

Irish players are over rated, Schmit just gets the most out of them- only one or two would make a world XV.
