Re: SR Rd 10. Brumbies V Canes: A Capital Affair!
Nice attempt at being magnanimous, but I can tell you're super-arrogant and confident about this game. And you deserve to be, the Canes are the form team in the comp. I suggest you enjoy the view from the top of the mountain and talk a bit of smack. I’m confident but not arrogant. I’m enjoying watc...

Re: All Blacks 2024
Can somebody tell me why Ioane moved from winger to center a few years ago? Was it his preference, or did the coaches persuade him?

Re: SR Rd 10. Brumbies V Canes: A Capital Affair!
I'm looking forward to this game. I expect the Brumbies to bounce back after getting spanked by the Blues last week. The Brumbies are a better side than that. The Hurricanes will need to start well if they want to succeed in this game. Nice attempt at being magnanimous, but I can tell you're super-...

Re: Finau tackle on Edmed.
I'd pick Savea and Finau in our loose forward mix and would pick Savea at 7. I haven't made up my mind about number 8. I haven't seen enough of Sotutu to fairly assess his ability, but I do like what I've seen so far from Bradyen Iose. Sotutu is a Rolls Royce. Given the right coaching, I think he w...

Re: Finau tackle on Edmed.
I saw the game in real time, and I thought the tackle was borderline but not deserving of a card. If I was one of the Chiefs' coaches, I'll be having a quiet word with him about technique and improving the arm wrap action.

Re: All Blacks 2024
Rieko has definitely improved in that regard though.. just like defensively he has matured with age. Those first two tries against Ireland in the World Cup were from Rieko passes. We'll see though. If Razor doesn't pick him, then we know he doesn't rate him. But who would be better? The alternates ...

Thanks. I am starting from poverty again after a divorce and only have 15 years to build up some decent equity . So I am not sure what is really long term. I think I'll stick with a mix for the short term and will watch for the moment to go more risky. Good luck with the rebuild. I've been through ...

Re: All Blacks 2024
Reiko Ioane creates nothing for his wingers. His first instinct is always to run the ball, to take contact. All Black wingers have consistently been starved of ball when playing outside Ioane. That's a f**king huge issue. If that's true, I'm surprised by that because he played in the center positio...

Re: All Blacks 2024
Considering the Blues have given up 3 or so tries in the last 5 matches I think his defense is doing fine . He had a tendency to let someone have the outside and then use his speed to get them rather than shut down their space but that seems to have improved. Either way, just like some other player...

Haven't read the thread so probably miles away from where it's at right now but I noted that 1) The Wife was always conservative (property and low risk pension scheme) 2) I started off medium to high risk (I suppose knowing that the wife was low risk allowed that), mainly bullion and shares. 3) As ...

I'll definitely be seeking independent financial advice when I'm 10 years out from planned retirement. At 10 years out, I'll probably move some stuff I have in growth funds (80 growth assets /20 cash assets) to a balanced fund (50/50), and then at about 5 years out move the same stuff in the balance...

Re: All Blacks 2024
Will be interesting to see if Robertson persists with a non-passing, ball-hogging, selfish centre like Ioane. At this stage 12 is Barrett and 13 is wide open. I don't have a problem with Ioane on attack. It's his defence that causes me worry. He's no Conrad Smith. Considering the Blues have given u...

What's scary, is that the Nuggets haven't even hit top gear yet. They're such a well balanced team. It's early days, but I can see them going all the way.
On a slightly different subject, Jamal Murray should have been an All Star this season. I would have chosen Murray ahead of Booker.

Agree. In regards to the other loose forward positions, is Finau the leading contender for the AB #6 jersey?Pakia Pakia wrote: ↑Fri Apr 26, 2024 10:00 am But considering Cane is 32 and will be 36 at the next RWC, whats the point of selecting him when he can select:
Savea
Papali'i
Lakai
Blackadder
Harmon
Kirifi
These are all fine players.

Damn, I didn't see this coming. I don't know enough about the circumstances to comment on the Ministerial demotions. Moving forward, it's going to be interesting to see how Luxon acts when one of Act or NZF Ministers cocks up. In my view, the non-National Minister who will be under the most scrutiny...

Anyone who was wondering why the greens rule out working with national have their answer. Game 2 Nuggets v Lakers was awesome, huge comeback from Denver punctuated by a Murray buzzer beater (and in a reversal of game 2 of the 2020 series, it was in AD's face). Lakers will complain about some refs calls but you kind of feel that was their shot. NY v Philly was a crazy comeback, b2b steal...
