MrDominator wrote: Sun Dec 13, 2020 9:07 pm How on earth does a donkey like Quinn Roux get picked ahead of Taig Beirne for Ireland?
I think that says more about the modern game than it does about Ireland coaches.

It's very similar to the decision to bring Kleyn to the World Cup ahead of Toner/Dillane.

Coombs reminds me of SOB's breakthrough for Leinster. I know they're very different players but just the sense that he's got that X factor.

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

Flametop you're missing at least 6 or 7 positive interventions from Stockdale. Combining nicely with Keenan, constantly getting outside the defender and making hard yards in the carry (even if the pass looked on a couple of times). His running game is on a different planet to Rob K. Couple of really...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

That was a good performance from the team given where we are at. We've some glaring weaknesses in personnel, a few payers near the end and a lot more getting used to international rugby. Murray has been MUCH better over the past two weeks. We got really quick ball from excellent work at the ruck an...

Oh and time to move on from Ross Byrne. He is out of his depth at this level. Literally anyone else from Burns to Healey to Byrne jr to Frawley to Cathy would be better to try and develop at this stage IMO.

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

Stockdale offers so much. Will like to see him given the 15 jersey for 6 nations and beyond.

Gets way too much flack.

Fumbled two high balls tho. His technique seems off as he always misses them the same way.

Murray and Sexton have turned from our greatest strength to our greatest weakness. Cupboard bare behind Sexton whereas loads of players putting their hand up behind Murray.

The backrow was the absolutely brilliant.

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

Vincent Koch was the difference at the end of the day. Healy has been conspicuously awful in the loose for the past few weeks, and was taken to the cleaners today also. In fairness, three or four of the pens seemed to come from 8 man shoves rather than Koch V Healy? Leinster did well to get back int...

Re: Why can't the Scots and Welsh be more like the Irish?

Interesting to hear Eddie's comments on the ill-mannered Scottish fans... When England play in Cardiff, they receive the most boorish abuse imaginable from Welsh fans (grannies giving middle fingers, valley commandos headbutting the bus, and so on). When England play in Edinburgh, it's more of the ...
