Re: Moana Pasifika v Highlanders @ Nuku ‘Alofa - Today
I would say, playing these games in places like Tonga are great entertainment. Rugby may be shit at times, but you sure can enjoy the crowd and ground announcer! Looked like they all having a lot of fun! Apart from the crowd entertaining themselves in the muddy waters on TV, I saw on social m...

Re: All Blacks 2024
I like what Reece is doing this year, but there also plenty of arguments for Telea and Clarke, so will depend who on the expanded panel are responsible for wings see it going. With a panel of about 8 doing selections will be interesting to see how they go.

Question who is the Crusaders' attack coach, apart from givethe ball to Reece and hope he will do it for us, there doesn't seem to be a lot of manipulation etc.

Amen AC, no decent tackler doen't hit with shoulder first, I don't think it very often I have seen tacklers run with arms spread out, you don't tackle that way.Ali's Choice wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 1:24 am You're allowed to tackle shoulder first as long as the arms wrap. Crusaders pack going well, but sruggling in backs. But going ok at moment and credit to crowd , decent trun out for the ladder position.

Yeah I also think Blackadders best pos is 7. Christie has been one of the better players for the Crusaders. This team looks pretty handy on paper but they've really struggled to get any cohesion going. I think Balckadder is good choice at 7 especially against team like Rebels who have found their g...

Re: SRP R10 Crusaders v Rebels
I’ve got to admit it’s still quite enjoyable supporting a struggling team . Frustrating as it is to see them bomb game after game , it’s a different kind of high that is experienced with the odd win . Only winning the entire competition beats it for intensity . Agree Eug, easiest thing to pretend t...

Yes I too became less interested in League after moving to Australia. After the Warriors hype I've tried to get back into it but don't find it as appealing as I did and can't watch more than 15 minutes. It's too repetitive for me and I actually find AFL more entertaining though admittedly I've neve...

Hannah looks ok for a youngster, but would be surprised if he makes squad, though if they like the look of him he could get looked at in 'A' team. The one newbie I be keen on is Billy Proctor, he continues to look pretty good, and the combo of him and JB especially on defence looks more than ok.

Going to be a lot of sore bodies, and none more so than Kirifi and Barrett. Really hope Amua is going to be OK as he and TJ must be giving the AB selectors some food for thought. I’m again baffled How does Fraser get 3 weeks for a head-clash and the Drua guy get two weeks for a head-butt? The tribunal is a farce. Essentially because there is no low range for high shots, but there is for striking somehow. I suppose the faf slap is a good example of a low range strike. Not su...

Re: The OFFICIAL Capt Hurricane Hurricanes vs Chiefs Thread - Super Rugby Round 8
For me Lakai is an 8 playing 7 and Iose offers even less at lineout than Savea. As good as Lakai and Iose have been Savea is a better 7 than Lalai and Savea is a better 8 than Iose. The major difference for me is the Canes tight five. The removal of the red head bloke at lock and the improvement of...

Entertaining game from the cellar dwellers. Some pretty average skills at times but. Wasn't too smart from Mcnichol knocking the ball down twice. I thought it was interesting that the Crusaders swapped all their reserves in one go. Not sure if that worked for them. Blackadder was good value. Gardin...

6 weeks for Lomani is too lenient imo. The original 10 was about right. That's the worst Red Card I've seen in a looooooooong time. Wasn't the worst, although the dumbest! Yep, that's another tick in the box for Morgan. On this thread, I've already advocated for Morgan or Godfrey to be on the bench as back up to the more staid and slower Cameron, but I hadn't considered starting either of them. Maybe start Morgan then bring Cameron on the close? Actually Ted, that so...

As counter intuitive as it might seem, would the coaches be tempted to give Aiden Morgan a run at 10 instead of Cameron? Aiden is a very strong defender, and plays a good running game. Taking Love out of the backline to stiffen up the inside defence leaves gaps in the backline that Stevenson and Na...
