Re: All Blacks and NZ Rugby 2026

Interesting that Frizell will have taken three years away from NZ Rugby, and then is returning for a RWC year to try and gain selection. If this becomes a normal move and more common, for players take three years away then return every 4th year to play in a RWC, doesn't that also devalue playing do...

Four tries, as a hooker, in your 150th match isn’t too shabby.

Based on form it'll be a novel approach to captain from the stands. While I'm not set on his replacement. I know I don't want him as captain. Someone mentioned Cam Roigard the other day. Would be a brave choice with lots of potential upsides. Plus he's a Hurricanes player so he'd be non-threa...

This may be a defining moment for NZ Rugby. I hope they are prepared to pay top dollar for a coach because if I was a top coach it would take a lot to attract me to a role where player power ousted the previous coach. Didn't stop Henry applying when player power got Mitchell out... Was that player ...

I guess it's the pontification and wank talk about "changing the way test cricket is played" that came out a few years ago. The English team and their media huffing their own farts didn't help. In the end, he's just another mediocre coach. It didn’t start with his coaching. It began with the “we’re...

Sounds like Harry Brook might need a chat with Jesse Ryder about the risk of wasting talent through ill discipline and drinking after his Wellington incident.

That was a small murmur but a “spike” as the ball was within one frame of the bat. Is the technology sensitive enough to pick up other noises like foot scrapes to give doubt not to call that an edge? Or, is there a margin of error for spoke size to confidently call it?

I’ve read a few comments saying it’s unclear if that was deliberate (Biggar and Warburton) but from the footage he’s got a pretty clear line of sight on what his thumb is doing so I’d expect a lengthy ban.

No review of that pass is typical. I don't think they can, it was a fair bit earlier huh? What id the TMO for? They would for any tier 2 team or the Wallabies. They aren’t always consistent. The ABs had a try ruled out in the World Cup final outside the phases for review remit of the TMO for example.
