The year is a write-off.
Injuries, the draw and change haven’t helped but they should be doing better. Watching reminds me of the years Reuben Thorne coached the NPC side - losing while playing ok is one thing but it’s the basics and structure letting them down.

Was the Hurricanes one ‘No One Likes Playing Against the Wind’?
I may be wrong on this one because it seems pretty boring but have a recollection of just ‘Can’t stop the Crusaders’.

Not in the spirit of the game and really bad form.
The local union commented online to “make sure we support and look after one another through this.” I wonder if they can take it out of the other club’s hands and reschedule unilaterally?

I remember going home about 25 years ago; my parents house was on SH1 north of Christchurch. I was surprised to find (because I hadn't noticed it when I lived there) that once you drove about 5-7km inland, every bridge was a one-lane bridge. Maybe they've replaced them all but it would be a hell of...

Bibi publicly telling the Biden administration to do one. Not playing the long game. Although, to be fair he probably doesn't have a political future once the bombing stops. He was annoyed at the U.S. and UK urging restraint and very clear that any decision was Israel’s alone. Considering the U.S. ...

Shame on everyone who thought that Ian Foster would never land a head coaching role again and said his ascension to the AB coaching role was nepotism and jobs for the boys at its worst. Auckland is probably a better option anyway - easier for a crowd to watch (more vantage points) I would have thought and without an endangered species present. I get the frustration but presumably the restrictions were known to Sail GP and Coutts when they signed up for the location. Unless an unexp...

English cricket’s toxic culture
In a shocking development it has been revealed that the ECB has been exposing England’s cricketing youth to toxic material. Hulk-like batsmen could light up the T20 circuit and Spider-Manesque quick bowlers slinging it down would be impressive, but is this taking things too far? https://www.stuff.co...

Maybe we have gone full circle back to 1996.
The wooden spoon could be on the cards this year, a solid mid-table the season after and then a glorious three-peat from 2027-2029.
Rob Penney took on a huge ask following Razor and with all the departures, but the injuries/illness on top are killers.

Kate has admitted to editing the image. Two scenarios then. The idea about property owners getting special treatment wasn’t helped when Grant Robertson started talking about “closing a loophole” when interest deductibility was removed. That messaging could have been picked into a lot more but was often taken at face value.
