Re: Official 2021 Post 6 Nations Lions Squad Prediction Thread
Wasn't O'Connell really a No.5 lineout lock though, ie more Matfield than Botha? Ideally to be paired with a more powerful lock like Shaw, than compared.

The circuit is in and around the area where Dolphins' Hard Rock stadium is located. I know it pretty well and large parts of that area are ghetto. F1 desperately wanted to use one of the bridges between Miami Beach and Miami for the race but council rejected based on effect on residents' daily life...

Do you like democracy Enz? Because that's really what it comes down to. China is showing increasing signs of being a revisionist power. I find it difficult to watch TV for long when I can just flick over to youtube or rumble and search directly for what I'm interested in, and the algorithm is particularly helpful in that respect.

Anyone picking Duhan van der Merwe?
His 6N stats were apparently off the charts, so I expect Townsend might lobby for his selection.

Second place, Dulin for not kicking away the ball to win the game for France. Would have got first place, but he obviously wanted the fourth try, and the championship had already been lost anyway, so may as well have a crack. A crack at what though? They were winning and surely a fourth try was wor...

Not sure the David v Goliath thing really works when Ireland are 2nd, England are 4th (even if England have trampled all over them in the 3 tests since 2018). This will be a tight game I think, I don't buy into a full England recovery yet, I think they're still finding their feet, Ireland to edge it.

Farrell - 6 I'm not convinced by the hype. Better from the tee, and better in defence. A few offloads doesn't make him a proper 12 though. Ford - 8 The best 10 in the northern hemisphere. Back to his old self in terms of playing flat to the line. Distribution as brilliant as ever. Tactical play and...

The existing Pro 14 conferences have Leinster 1, and Ulster 2 in the first; and Munster 1, and Connacht 2 in the second. It is unlikely that Connacht will be in any second division. And that is the problem with the Pro 14: the Irish provinces are just too strong. More that the Welsh & Italian teams...

Re: The multiplication of red cards in rugby because of the new laws about head tackling
As I pointed out earlier, the contest in the air was clamped down on, and players are being more careful chasing/receiving bombs. If we see a few more reds for chicken-winging, we should see players become a little more careful entering rucks. They certainly won’t take a step back to wind up like P...

Re: The multiplication of red cards in rugby because of the new laws about head tackling
Punish the player. Allow a forced sub to come on after 10-20minutes so the game is still a spectacle. And ban the player for long enough to reflect on their tackling ‘ clean out etc technique. Another benefit of this is that referees will be more inclined to give out reds for dangerous behaviour. T...
