Re: NEW ZEALAND v AUSTRALIA — RWC Final Saturday 31 Oct

One unknown for the All Blacks is they've not been tested so far this RWC . They've not been pushed. Answers to that include a) you can only play what's in front of you and b) always being in control is a sign of strength, but while the Wallabies have had some shaky moments and weren't in control f...

Re: What was the point of the Colin Slade selection?

If DC had of broken down, Slade would have taken the 10 slot. Barrett would have remained as the super sub. I'm sure the zoo looked at all the permutations prior to selecting the squad. The AB's have been really lucky with injuries this time around, only Woody needing to be replaced. I would rather...

Re: Burgess and Folau

What bright spark in England thought a league prop would make a world cup winning 2nd five in less than a year? given time he will make an excellent 6 or 8. as for Folau he is considered by some in NZ to be the best fullback in the world and by most to be the 2nd best. Personally i think he sh...

who would you have taken in his place? regardless, whoever you choose would likely have received as much gametime as Slade Would have taken Sopoaga malakai covers wing and the centres waisake was our left wing cover Sopoaga only covers 1st 5 which Barrett also covers. sounds bad for cairns but really all the evidence has been nothing but circumstantial. no way should he be found guilty on what the prosecution has produced so far. Really? Re: NEW ZEALAND v AUSTRALIA — RWC Final Saturday 31 Oct

If it's a close game with 15 to go, well, anything can happen. I get the feeling NZ will run in some soft tries early on and then hold the lead. Really? I think it's 50/50 down the middle. Shows how fickle RWC rugby can be. Also how we've overblown the massive build up for RWC's most teams employ. ...

Re: Next AB captain?

Rennie's not dumb. He'll be in the All Black lineup very soon. agreed. hopefully the mistaken philosophy of requiring international head coaching experience has been discarded and we will see Rennie take over Wayne Smith's AB assistant role. Nothing against Foster i just don't see him getting the A...

Not sure if you're being serious but Gatland is ineligible to coach the ABs unless he accepts a MASSIVE paycut and takes a Super Rugby gig first. i don't think it is entirely outside of the realm of possibility that we see Rennie and Gatland involved in a job swap or a slightly different path befor...

Re: Next AB captain?

The answer is clearly Kieran Read. Sure he may not be playing as well as he was back in 2013, but he's definitely the heir to McCaw's throne. One thing about the current AB setup is that it's an extremely professionally and predictably run organisation. And its leadership succession planning reflec...

Interested in this as one of my sons (U13s this year) is unsure which position to play. For the past two seasons his club have played him at lock, preparing him to become flanker - likely blindside - when they start having those. He's massively valued by the coaches because he does the heavy-liftin...
