Re: **OFFICIAL** English Rugby Thread

Sleightholme has to tour this summer. Ramm should also be under consideration. And by all accounts Baxter had a decent game today as did Dombers. All of the above have been performing well over a number of months, not just today. Squad selection is going to be tough for Borthwick. Mercer needs to to...

Re: **OFFICIAL** English Rugby Thread

The good news about all these Under 20 players that aren’t as good as X or you don’t rate that highly, is that they’re almost guaranteed to get better. They’re 19. We need to be giving them the best environments to develop to their potential. I don’t know if that means bringing them on a tour to NZ...

Re: **OFFICIAL** English Rugby Thread

Yet to be convinced by him. NZ rugby tend not to let promising props drift into the NPC and then disappear abroad. There must be a reason why Baxter is still picking Painter ahead of him for the big games. Baxter’s first choice has been Iosefa-Scott for most of this season up to 3 wks ago when he g...

If Murley is the answer, the question must be who is the seventh best EQ winger in the GP. He’s gone now but I’d take Lynagh before Murley whose best form was 2 years ago.

Re: **OFFICIAL** English Rugby Thread

I’m a neutral but in all fairness Bath should be awarded the win if Herbst returned 2-3 mins before the yellow was completed. Why? It's nothing to do with either team if the officials let him back on early. The player and the coaches know what 10 mins feels like and you’d think they would be keenly...

Seems the latest mandate for refs is to allow forward passes to make the game more exciting. What next ? 11 a-side with a round ball ? Presumably you didn't watch the Quins-Sarries game yesterday, and you're just basing this on one observation that annoyed you? Nope you’re wrong again. The Bath Sal...

Quins tackling was sloppier than Katie Prices knickers. Faz did manage a few 4 yard shovel passes without moving his feet, Racing fans will be creaming themselves over that.

Zack Wimbush is some unit at centre. Impressive 9 inch run-in for the try.

I just don't see how him and Earl don't fit into the same backrow. Totally different build and different skillset, but also both have ridiculous engines. Sure they both might be a little bit off underhill in dominant tackles, but between the two of them I reckon they make a lot more then him alone....

Barnes still plugging Earl as a centre in the Times. Interesting thought but I think he does more damage in the back row, not necessarily at 8. I haven’t jumped on the Pollock hype train yet. Suspect size will ultimately be his issue.

Re: **OFFICIAL** English Rugby Thread

So with Martin in and Pearson dropped, numpty will be selecting a lock in the back row. That signals to me no intention to change the style of play, more dull 10 man rugby based on forward dominance which has not been a reality for over 5 years. Ewels in but Pearson out, crazy.
