Carl Gustav or Charlie-G. Note the colour of the rounds - Saxe-Blue, which indicates training rounds. Once me and my mucker let rip with a Charley-G and once the blast died down heard a lot of hullabaloo behind us from the training bods - appreciation of a brilliant shot? - nay, all the grass behin...

Re: WAR ON (white) CHRISTMAS IN NZ!
I'm struggling to think of a more iniquitous contemporary concept than white privilege. It combines idiocy and evil in one foul doctrine and is a sort of 'original sin' invitation to future genocide. We will be hearing much more of it. Just got back into work from a quick splash about the streets o...

Re: WAR ON (white) CHRISTMAS IN NZ!
I am still trying to get my head around the concept of White Privilege, to be honest as I have seen it thrown around a lot especially in the States. Obviously, living in Poland for a decade we don't really have these sort of labeling. So my question was really not to challenge it at this point but ...

Whilst I have many warm memories of Blackpool (none of them sober), it's hasn't been a tourist trap for years.Woman moves from rundown backwater coastal shithole

Well don't come crying to us Brits when the Irish out-of-work-fancy-cake-making-people start rioting in the streets of Carrowbaun because of the dominance of 'foreign' run Tea Rooms and the streets are red with artificially coloured cake icing. Mark my words its the start of the end of Irish culture...

Whoooooooooooooosh. While I'm sure the rest of GB have no problem with Engerland co-opting the anthem for her own personal use, you'd think that Englishers themselves would want something a little more exclusive, something they could genuinely call their own. Here you are just displaying the same level of ignorance th...

Due to the fact that the Lad is from Durham University this story is getting a lot of airplay in the North East. I suppose the beautiful irony of the Gary Graham saga is that if any of the Old Farts listened to his accent they would consider him a Scot despite him being broad Cumbrian. It is a problem (international qualification) and will continue to be so whilst people move around looking for the Dollar/Poun...

Interestingly I'm reading Farrar-Hockley's "Death of an Army" about 1st Ypres - the German solidery had already started to figure this out by Autumn 1914 and would break, partly from necessity, partly because they realised it was better at breaking a British skirmish line. Totally AgreeLyn MacDonald did a wonderful job interviewing old soldiers and telling their stories
Luckily there's another fresh wave of authors/historians who are willing to do that and actually go back to the unit records and the soldiers stories instead of regurgitating the perceived wisdom.
