Re: Let’s talk about ‘A Bridge Too Far’
Think that was The Longest Day. May be wrong though This. Richard Todd played John Howard, and was a junior officer under him on D-Day. Berrick Barnes! :D I've been a big fan of Kyle Eastmond. A wee man, so probably was never seriously considered for international rugby, but did well against Argentina! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYfhrBdmruY Barnes is a 10/12 and Eastmond a 12 D'Oh! I skimmed that and missed 'fullback'.

Re: NRL legend Roger Tuivasa Sheck to join the All Blacks
Is Jason Robinson the only successful League convert at full-back? I suppose Matt Rogers, although he was originally an RU player in his youth. Hardly think NZ need a wing, do they? Lump him or lump him, but Folou was hardly unsuccessful. Of course yes, Folau might even have been better full-back t...

Everyone's been told to 'run the system' and not display much creativity... understandably, defences are usually thick where the 1st5 once stood, and now it's forwards there most of the time and the FH standing behind them.

I think the Mexicans would welcome that wall. No one would want hordes of non-mask-wearing, anti-vaxing Covid-positive Trump supporters flooding across their border to escape the oppression of a liberal US government. The Canadians probably want a wall now too. There's bugger all places Americans c...

I've no issue with someone celebrating a try so long as you're not directly rubbing it into the opposition's faces (scream in a defender's face, patting his head, or getting him trapped in your celebration). ... subs who'd been warming up behind the deadball line rushing in, however. Excellent points! A trial ground for new coaches seems common in a lot of areas. It's true for our provincial and university teams as well. You've got to start somewhere, true, but a lot are people with little to no coaching experience. Start with a club or school side and spend a few years working ...

Fair point ... and many clubs have different names not just for women, but for 2nd XV, 3rds, etc. That was a largely dreadful match. Bris had one great passage that led to a try. They need to take some accountability themselves , getting better checks after a head knock is good and not once did I say anything about this - it’s the legal threat years later (presumably egged on by ambulance chasers) that I’m against as it affects the whole sport. Glad I'm not the only one who thought Toronto! I think the sites that nominate it do so because of the quality of life in Canada, in general. A brief return for this topic. Yes, I've fallen out of love with the game. Lots of things wrong, and on several fronts I can see reckonings coming. I'd be in favour of banning pre-binding. The first-up tackle should be 1-v-1. Binding on, and formation of ruck, maul, whatever can happen after that. Interesting, even away from this topic, we see a good chunk of tackles in elite games frequently have two tacklers, especially forward carries aroun...

Getting all high tech analysing this stuff is bollocks when you consider that England did this in 2002, with most of the lads being taught the game in the amateur era (I suspect Clive's acronym for scanning the field is something most of those players did anyway). If May didn't have the pace, there'...

Still true in the amateur world, thank Dog. In the pro world, you have to be lightning fast to earn a spot on the wing (unless you're English, then wee blokes are told to fudge off to the NFL or stick with League), or have a brilliant pass/box kick/ability to manage the breakdown (or have dirt on yo...
