Re: Beast beaches what yours

Beaches around NW European coasts are shit. Massive tides mean you’re constantly moving your towel 10m every 10 mins. Only people who don't recognise a high tide line. So you’re happy to setup your towel 300m from the water’s edge at low tide? Walk for 5 mins before you get wet feet and wade anothe...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

Speed of pass is much more important than extreme accuracy. Getting the pass out there around where the player is, will, more times than not, end up with lots of ground made as opposed to setting yourself, looking at the ball on the ground, looking at your receiver, looking at the ball on the groun...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

https://twitter.com/ek_rugby/status/1380932520527691781?s=19 That is such a nice pass from Byrne, forces Keenan to take it at full pace. Thought he might have crabbed a bit too much but everything is happening at such speed there's still an opportunity to score out wide, worse passing and no try. A...

Hume had a big, big game Agreed. He actually reminds me a younger Henshaw. Don't think he is quite the same athlete but hopefully he can progress as Robbie has done. Still has lots to learn but it's only his 2nd season. Realistically if we want to compete we need to hit home runs on guys like Hume,...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

Fitz didn't have top end speed for a winger tbf. Neither did Nacewa. Not that I'm saying he was as good as Isa but more that type of player. The “top speed” bit was another myth. I thought the length of the field try against Bath would’ve put a stop to that, but it stuck around. You never saw Fitz ...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

Hickie was a better all round player than Fitz, but Fitz was a better out-of-the-box talent. At the age Fitz was making all his tackles in the Slam, Hickie was getting sent away to work on his D after South Africa. Hickie did go and work on his game and became a world class defender, and then later...

Wood was a great player, and a properly top drawer forward when the rest of the pack wasn't really up to his standard but I don't think he's far ahead of Best if at all (in an Ireland shirt).

Watched that Sound of Metal thing. Pretty good. The script and some of the story is a bit ho hum and telegraphed but Riz Ahmed is pretty brilliant in it. He plays some drummer lad whose hearing goes. Some round from Rose. Was looking at the stats for the last few years, those that have done well have had high GIR %, driving accuracy and scored well on Par 5s, putting hasn't been as big a factor surprisingly. Rose was -4 on the Par 5s, 72% GIR (15% ahead of field average) and 78% on fairways hit ...

Medditeranian beaches are often profoundly average. Most are rocky or polluted. There is rarely a wave at all. Anything half decent is prohibitively crowded. Only a couple I thought were comparable to beaches elsewhere, with the best being Falasarna in Crete. https://static.openit.gr/cretanbeaches....
