Re: The Official Welsh Rugby Thread
He did have a lineout steal and almost another in that first 30. He got more involved through the game but 5 carries and 10 tackles, it's still not enough. I don't think he played badly but Exeter frequently have him as a latch in their pods or the guy to clear out. If he's going to get those carryi...

Re: The Official Welsh Rugby Thread
Hennessey out with a shoulder injury - real shame that. Was looking forward to seeing him paired with one of the big inside centres. No one being called up - which makes sense given how many centres are still in the squad.

Re: The Official Welsh Rugby Thread
He's been deeply disappointing in a deeply disappointing team. He turns 30 in a few weeks. Surely now is the time to head off to ProD2, rather than block a younger player's spot at the reejuns? I don't think he's been that bad...but form aside, he's coming back to a side with Sheedy, Ioan Lloyd and...

A front 5. True. Lock in particular is looking light, even with Lousi resigning. Not a secret as he signed months ago when he was on loan to us, but now officially announced a big lock from Stormers. Alex Groves 6'9" 19st. More like it. Ah right, I remember seeing him and Cuckson on loan - neither ...

Re: The Official Welsh Rugby Thread
Isaac Murray-Macgregor confirmed for the Scarlets. Sounds an interesting player, but they really need to be signing some props. Is he another midget who ‘makes stuff happen’? According to rugbypass 6’2, 95kg....sounds disappointingly sensible sized. Where's the magic when they are the size of a nor...

Interesting one from the Harlequins leavers list - Math Jones. Wales online has talked him up in the past, and Scarlets seemed keen to keep him - will be interesting to see if anyone tries to pick him up.

Re: The Official Welsh Rugby Thread
Would have been an interesting game if Cardiff had a scrum. Lots of positives in defence and attack. I thought Ioan Lloyd showed exactly why he needs to play ten more. Did some things that most tens can't but then had that brainfart cross field kick that gifted the Stormers a try at a crucial point....

Re: The Official Welsh Rugby Thread
Given the Dragons have been forced by injury to have 20 year old Owain James on the bench for a fair number of games this season, I can see how we would be interested. Came here to say this. If Sale are binning him off, it's basically the reejuns or ProD2 left. He looked broadly serviceable when Sa...

Re: The Official Welsh Rugby Thread
WillGriff John released by Sale. He was pretty unimpressive for the Scarlets but is he better than a lot of the regional 2nd or 3rd choice tightheads? On the Scarlets Supporters page on Facebook, someone asked one question. Should we re-sign him. Dozens of NOs, not 1 YES. LOL. I get that, he was hu...

WillGriff John released by Sale. He was pretty unimpressive for the Scarlets but is he better than a lot of the regional 2nd or 3rd choice tightheads? As for Evan Lloyd, he's still really raw. Conditioning will come I'm sure and time at hooker will do him a lot of good... He's got something, and we should be looking to make use of it.

Re: The Official Welsh Rugby Thread
No doubt. If the Stormers actually thought for a second they'd have knocked the ball on or taken all scrummaging opportunities, which they didn't bizarrely. Cardiff would have been down to 14, probably more than once and the Stormers could have banked easy territory. Cardiff couldn't control how the...

Re: The Official Welsh Rugby Thread
Lots of great performances... All of the back row, Nott, Mulder, Evan Lloyd brought some impact in the brief time he was on. Ioan Lloyd had his best performance in ages. His running was great, mostly good selection off passes but put in some intelligent kicks at just the right time. He's still a pre...

Re: The Official Welsh Rugby Thread
Eugh. Ben Thomas-Rory Jennings centre combo again. Steff Emanuel off the bench too - at least that might brighten the midfield up. Last game for Halfpenny - hopefully knocks over a tricky one to win the game. That centre combo is only matched by our front 5. Absolutely shite Stormers centre combo i...

Re: The Official Welsh Rugby Thread
Given that it's two years away, the likelihood of one of Scott, Pritchard, Cook, Hire, Godfrey or maybe even Hawley breaking through and being a better option by then seems higher to me. Maybe we'll find some welsh qualified lump....who knows, we can hope.

But on one level he's correct - Sebastian is ahead of Wainwright in the pecking order at Cardiff (with good reason I think). It does again remind us of the lack of depth, but Sebastian qualifying for Wales would be an asset...even if we have to take the word asset in context.

So we've only got depth issues at 3, 4, 5, 9, 10 and 15 then 3 is the only position where I think if we lose two people we're in real trouble. I think most of these we can paper over the cracks with solid players (lock we're not selecting guys like Rhys Davies or Levi Douglas - admittedly a bench o...

Really pleased for Harri Keddie who has been outstanding in recent months, but Rio Dyer missing out again is just ridiculous. He has been absolutely superb since the Autumn. Plenty of decent options in the back 3 but no one is playing as well as him. F*cking astonishing.
