Re: The Official Welsh Rugby Thread

Will Reed re-signing for the Dragons on a 2 year deal. Good news that, but expected. We've done well to retain lots of good young players. Chris Kirwan saying we were in talks to sign Anscombe and Patchell but couldn't get deals done. Much as I admire both players I'm kind of glad. Budget must still...

Re: The Official Welsh Rugby Thread

Ospreys have looked sharper with Dan Edwards at ten, rather than Owen Williams. At one point I thought he was a good stop gap for Wales but he's really not playing well enough to demand the ospreys shirt let alone a Welsh one. Shame for the ospreys but their attack is always hit and miss. Hard worki...

Re: The Official Welsh Rugby Thread

I reckon whoever we pick in the centres may well look better just for the fact we're likely to be picking a pack with the likes of Lake, Faletau and Morgan who should put us on the front foot a bit more. Playing with width, and therefore a footballing 12, then isn't such an issue, so Tompkins or Ben...

So he's fit but we've decided to go with Dane Blacker instead as back up to Rhodri?

Jack Dixon retires at 29. A Dragons stalwart from the age of 16, ridiculously young age really. Good luck to him.

We're getting a bit light on centres now though. Ackerman is going to need to come through fast.

Re: The Official Welsh Rugby Thread

Exeter won, despite the impediment of our lads. Did they improve second half? Max Llewellyn scored a cracker yesterday. His bread and butter carry off the back of a lineout... Knocking players back to stretch over. Considering Wales online were taking up Hathaway off the back of a decent try, but in...

Re: The Official Welsh Rugby Thread

So far this week the Dragons have confirmed Harri Ackerman, Joe Westwood, Che Hope and Morgan Lloyd all signing long term deals. Really good news. I originally supported the Warriors, so it wouldn't be the first time I had to change region. I appreciate for you there has been more consistency - a natural line from Llanelli to the Scarlets - but for me (born Brecon, then lived around Abergavenny, and now Monmouth) any region is a slightly manuf...

Watched the Scarlets game (skimmed through)...bloody hell that was bad. No shame in being beaten by Glasgow - they are a really well oiled machine right now - but Scarlets barely fired a shot. To make so little out of that team. Yes, there are some big holes; tighthead is definitely a struggle, but ...

He put up really good numbers without producing the dominant, attack ending tackles or lineout steals that would mark him out as top tier. But that said he was still on the positive column for me. Still very young and has the right attitude I think.

I'm not convinced either of them are that great at test level. Jenkins is already capable and should get better. Tshiunza has been really stop start in his career... Tshiunza had been out for months, won one good breakdown turnover and was part of a generally poor Exeter performance. Most of his carries were into a double tackle and he spent most off his time hitting rucks... I'm not saying he was great but have some perspective. Jenkins wasn't any better today...

Some impressive performances from the ospreys here. Ratti is a really good carrier, Rhys Davies is looking like a real nuisance at lock, Morgan-Williams has been very good, tipuric looking class. The joy of victory was taken away by watching him play. Re: Stupid laws world rugby have created in recent years

I'd like to see teams given the option to take a quick tap from a knock on rather than it being a scrum every time. Teams with a dominant scrum still have plenty of opportunity to make that count, but the game can be sped up if a team wants to.

Would like to see Eddie James come on at 12 and push Williams to 13. More pace in the 13 channel, more directness from the centres.
