Re: The Official Welsh Rugby Thread
Sure. It's clear we can't keep going like this, but I am yet to be convinced that we don't have the money. What I am certain of is that we aren't spending money efficiently, and the regions don't get treated fairly by the WRU, who don't seem to understand their value to Welsh rugby at all. The 'maj...

Re: The Official Welsh Rugby Thread
Seems to be some missing context - Mudyryk mentions that they had some savings (which I guess is why they still exist) It's fun to bash the Scarlets and all - but the point about Covid loan repayments (compounded by rising interest rates) & the new punitive PRA is valid & blame lies more with the W...

Re: Stupid laws world rugby have created in recent years
I'd like to see teams given the option to take a quick tap from a knock on rather than it being a scrum every time. Teams with a dominant scrum still have plenty of opportunity to make that count, but the game can be sped up if a team wants to.

Re: LRZ
The worst case scenario for me is that he spends years around the periphery of a team, doesn't actually play much but wastes years when he could have been exceptional in rugby. I want him to either make a huge success of it or for it to burn out quickly and return to rugby...the middle ground is wha...

Dmitri Arhip turning up at the dragons was a bit of a surprise. If he's fit and firing and we have the likes of dyer, carter, Dee, Wainwright, keddie all back we might actually be able to beat zebre this Friday. Exciting times... My god how I wish we had someone to play inside centre rather than Ste...

Would like to see Eddie James come on at 12 and push Williams to 13. More pace in the 13 channel, more directness from the centres.

Re: The Official Welsh Rugby Thread
Scarlets are looking lost against Benetton, early doors. The attack is so lateral. They just ship it down the line, with no one near an attacker. When the forwards go straight they are making yards... But they are so inaccurate. Really poor. Scarlets scrum totally destroyed just then. What?!? But t...

Tipuric is among the most gifted rugby players we've produced. Exceptional rugby brain, wonderful skillset that could have seen him play a number of positions. However if I was selecting the best Welsh XV of the professional era I would have Warburton at 7. Sometimes it's not about what you can do, ...

We talked at the beginning of the season about either LRZ or Adams converting to FB...maybe now would be a good time for Adams to have a little challenge in that regard. I've still got hopes for Nagy. He's not the second coming of JPR, but he's solid under the high ball, has a boot on him...but mos...

Grace could be a superstar, he certainly was in league. Hope he can stay fit because that would be a great addition. I'd also say that I think Keelan Giles is still worth a look. He's rapid, but he's also clever. In defence of Josh Adams, he's been excellent for years. While he has been really poor ...

I'd like to see Max Llewelyn given another go - I know he's not been setting the world alight at Gloucester, but he's shown in the past that he can be a physical threat at 12, as well as having some nuance to his game. He's also played with Grady a lot. Like to see him included on the Summer tour. ...

Maybe Grady won't be the all round player - sounds like he's quite quiet and not perhaps got the sheer arrogance that some top players have - but he showed a glimpse this weekend of what he can do. I'd take a limited 12 in terms of distribution with pace and power (and Grady has the potential to off...

I still think Costelow can be useful but that was dire. The best part about his game coming through was his ability to take the ball to the line. He's become utterly gun shy. All we're left with is a short kicking game and ball being shovelled on. I felt sorry for the players who had to be at the ba...

Assume our U-20s lost. Amazingly, no. They were getting hammered, mainly due to the scrum disintegrating. Second half they turned it around and got their tails up. Adams again? Jenkins back to the second row with Beard. Kemsley Mathias and Harri O'Connor on the bench is a worry for the scrums late on. North and Tompkins back. In some places not enough change, in others it feels too much. That front row we're going to end with is going to be unbelievably raw.

What does everyone want to see next week for Italy? I'd say it's fairly clear that there should be some changes. I really like Assiratti but this hasn't been an easy time for him, so I'd bring in Dillon Lewis, and retain the other two front rowers with Gareth Thomas and Dee both showing plenty of wo...

My point is that you're saying "this bloke who's had 4 caps in 7 years would have made a difference". I'm telling you that sounds mental. Nothing is certain, but putting on a raw 21 year old blindside was our choice, and we could have had a guy who has mixed it with the best and looked good, albeit...

Thomas Young is a fine club level player. There's nothing to suggest he can do it at test level, and you'd be insane to think he'd have made a shred of difference out there today. Very little to suggest he can't step up given he's been given four caps since his debut in 2017. He's class at the leve...
