Re: Irish Courts: U.K. not a safe country
According to that link Nigerians make up about 30% of the total so it's not mostly Nigerians. And Nigerians do come via boats just like other Africans and middle Eastern people (unless you have some stats that say all Nigerians come via Heathrow and claim asylum). What international law would compe...

Re: Irish Courts: U.K. not a safe country
Yet polls show that the Rwanda plan has very low support among the public and stats show most of the people arriving on small boats are granted leave to stay as they are refugees. The small boats would drop if we made it possible for people to apply for asylum through safe and legal routes, instead...

Re: Irish Courts: U.K. not a safe country
I don’t want any of the boat people to come here. Happy to admit that. I am confident that the majority of the UK electorate agree with me. Re: Irish Courts: U.K. not a safe country
Your weak politicians aren't clued enough. Besides why should the UK accept them? UK can't send asylum seekers back to France so why should Ireland be able to send them back to thy UK? You should press the EU actually do their job properly and protect their external borders and toughen up asylum sy...

Re: Irish Courts: U.K. not a safe country
It seems that many of those travelling through NI to claim International Protection in Ireland have already claimed such status in the UK. The Irish government is now going to change our laws to allow us to simply ship any such people back to Blighty. https://www.irishtimes.com/ireland/housing-plan...

Re: Irish Courts: U.K. not a safe country
No it doesn't. Say a refuge from Syria has family in Manchester, speaks English but not Greek why should they stay in Greece? People who advocate this approach just don't want refugees to come here at all as the only place we could accept refugees from would be Ireland. Luckily thanks to the Rwanda...

Apparently someone else just died on the table. Unclear if they were counted in the numbers before. Lots of cops still swinging about. Really tragic end to what was an absolute classics Sydney autumn day. It's apparently the 38 year old mother of the 9 month old. That is unbelievably sad. According...

Re: World Rugby to curtail Bok's Bomb Squad
I’d have no problem going down to 7 subs like 2009. This would be less than half the team. And would still allow the Boks to do their bomb squad of 6 forwards, but it would like make the tactic more risky for them.
I would hope everyone could live with that.

Re: Pushing 80 now
I was born in the early 80s I always felt that the early 90s maybe late 80s were the best times.
Especially when it came to technology. It felt that we had enough technology but it didn’t rule our lives like it does now.
Also TV/Cinema were at their peak in the 80s and 90s.

Re: World Rugby to curtail Bok's Bomb Squad
This is dumb. Maybe switch back to a 7 man bench with mandated 2 props and a hooker. But that’s all you need to do. The 2009 Lions Tour was peak rugby for me. That had only 7 subs allowed. I agree also that apart from a complete front row the rest of the bench is up to the coach. For all the wailin...

Re: World Rugby to curtail Bok's Bomb Squad
I'm not y sure why this has become an issue? It should by up to the team /coach to decide how many forwards they pick on the bench. If they want to stack the bench with forwards well what's the issue? I don't see that giving a clear advantage to one team. There are cons to picking just forwards. On...

Limited number of NIQ slots. Furthermore, Munster already have an NIQ centre, so they won't be allowed to hang two. NIQs need to be spread around the positions, the IRFU won't sanction multiple in one position in a club. Interesting, I have just read Rassie’s autobiography and he was saying that no...

Looks like the ANC will need to into coalition with either the EFF or DA. I assume that an ANC/EFF coalition would be bad news, yet it must have been priced in by the investors in the Unions and the returning players like Andre Esterhuizen, Eben Etzebeth, Vincent Koch, Willie Le Roux, Jannes Kirsten...

Add a 4th, people who are generally happy with how things are (save for the abomination that is the Goal Line Dropout), and just want the current laws to be enforced.

Re: Rob Baxter to World Rugby, Stop messing with the scrum and maul
Under the current laws. Define "positive" throwing it about endlessly like Super Pacific Rugby, which doesn't seem to be faring that well with crowds? A good scrum and a strong maul is positive, and often leads to exciting backline attacks as there is more space and front-foot ball. Baxter is right...
