Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
I was upper Hogan stand on 22. After black Sunday, it was one of the most satisfying wins. Munster have never really recovered from it. One Magners league and one URC but not what they were like during the noughties Remember then Munster lads streaming out with 10 mins to go. To the brave and faith...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
There isn't. Leinster usually don't hit full capacity in the rds, it's just the top European games. It's also the croke novelty factor for this particular game. Can't move to LDR indefinitely untill you hit avg attendances of at least 30k. Leinster are also stuck to a long term lease with the RDS n...

Ulster need a hooker? News to me. Herring is what, 33? And the wunderkind Stewart hasn't followed up on last season, not to say that he won't. WHo else do Ulster have ? John McKee is a better hooker than that strawberry blonde fella you had a couple of seasons ago who does punditry for Off the ball. John McKee is at Leinster because the Ulster Academy wanted to turn him into a prop, and he and his Dad told them where to stick it, and he came down to Trinity and Le...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Of course it would be, if it’s financed by a government grant. There will be a time in the future when we are a highly competitive team where we will easily fill out a 20,000+ Ravenhill. When Ulster have went far in Europe and played big games at Lansdowne road we have always brought 30,000/40,000 ...

As I commented earlier, there is an enormous supressed demand for Leinster tickets.
Leinster/RDS need to start planning for 30k+ spectators, and the IRFU to increase LR capacity to at least 65k.

You had Simon Shawe and have currently John McKee. Munster have had Chris Farrell. Connacht have had Willie Faloon, Jonny Murphy, Conor Carey etc So you complain that other provinces dont give you good players (but dont acknowledge its Ulsters fault for actually signing them) and then cite two abso...

I welcome his comments in relation to them applying for “10’s of millions worth of grants”. With Casement Park inevitably getting a lot more than was originally agreed then Ulster rugby are the poor relations. Its a combination of the M50 being at capacity and the closeness of the junctions, and of course selfish drivers. I'll take Deegan. Don't see the point in bringing in Leinster 4th choice LH just reinforces that we are by miles the poor relation. This will in theory give the best players access to the things schools players have. Main difference is it ...

The real reason Barrett is coming to Leinster is probably altogether more prosaic. He's not doing it for money - he could get a damned sight more than the reported € 200k elsewhere.
