Re: All Blacks 2024
There are not too many significantly experienced test players at Razor's disposal. After Papali'i, Akira is the most experienced NZ test loose forward so that might be in his favour. More likely is both Savea and Papali'i will both be starters due to the experience factor. There are a few 50 plus AB...

Re: All Blacks 2024
I like Papalii. Love to see Razor do things with him... however I can see Razor playing Ardie Sava at 7 and someone else (Grace, Sotutu, Brayden Iose, etc) at 8. With Flanders at 6. But who knows.. no one has seen a Razor picked All Blacks... he may surprise us and pick Akira Ioane as a rampaging n...

Re: All Blacks 2024
On the topic of our 10 depth, am I allowed to say I think it sucks a bit that the Clan have spent the past two seasons with overseas 10s clogging up a spot that could potentially be developing young NZ 10s? I don't blame them, I'd probably do the same in their position and they're hardly the first ...

Re: Blues v Crusaders @ Eden Park - Saturday
Whilst I'll take the win the Blues are still a frustrating team to watch. Could have scored several more tries tonight if they were a bit more patient and clinical. Yup some silly mistakes but will take the win. Strong game from Tuipolotu was a happy positive. Two lovely breaks by Perofeta but both...

Yeah, It's a bit like the Craps against Aussie, hell the Canes usual form against the Saders, I think you are usually psyched out before you get boots on the field. Something about beating the blowhards from the big smoke makes the Crusaders players come alive and you're right, the Blues players ju...

Re: All Blacks 2024
Italy were the only NH team to improve in the 6N. For the RC probably only the Wallabies will improve from last year. So I think we should be fine in a rebuilding phase this year. Cameron and Perofeta are adequate back ups in that context. Well, apart from Italy, one side did improve.. a lot. At le...

Re: All Blacks 2024
Tony Brown isn't even working on the grass with the Blues though? He wasn't even shown in the coaching box the last few matches. Pretty sure he's in SA and is just working part-time via Zoom. Maybe that explains why the Blues attack is so shite if it's mainly been left to the likes of McGrath. McGr...

When Cameron and Perofeta are our 2nd and 3rd choice 10's we're in serious trouble. There have been years in the past that the Crusaders as a single team have had better depth at no.10 then we currently have as an entire country. Nah we aren't in serious trouble. The NH teams were pretty average in...

Grace and Sotutu have been pretty good so far but nothing really to trouble Ardie if Razor likes him there. Our lineout was the best at the RWC with Ardie at 8 but Whitelock and Retallick are gone. Grace and Sotutu have both had strong lineouts this year.

When not playing the Canes, I have only seen snippets of the the Kiwi teams, so the below is subject to that: At the moment Aumua is nailed on at hooker. Ref said the maul had become “stationary” and then a new maul was effectively created. Rubbish call here under current interpretations but as a matter of principle I hate players being able to peel off and continue on up the field without defenders having any ability to bring them down. The English...

Reece and Moorby have both been in good form. Reece looked like pretty much our sole attacking threat the last two weeks. It reminded me a bit of the Nemani Nadolo era where for a couple of seasons our attack was basically just "give it to Nadolo and hope for the best". Agreed. The midfield has bee...

From what I've seen Riley Hohepa seemed like a solid and reliable player. Much more so than Kemara. Yes, I'd hope the 29 year old is the better player than the 20 year old, all else being equal. However, Hopeha is a 29 year old journeyman with fewer than 30 NPC appearances to his name. At that age,...

The Gary Stead set up is stale, toxic and meat headed.
Players like Ravindra will be ruined if something doesn't change.
Stead needs to go along with Southee, Kuggel.
Southee isn't the kant the other two are but he's done.

I reckon Williamson needs to stop getting a free pass and start having some hard questions asked. He’s never stepped up when it matters against Australia and only has done a few times against India (WTC was good) and England. As soon as you get his wicket you can just sense the shoulders drop. Just...

Hurricanes, Blues and Chiefs. Of course they can take the Blues game to the bank but it will still take a lot out of them.

I think it's fair to say we are struggling being down to our 4th and 5th choice locks. How do we end up in this position every season struggling for locks? It only took to the third game of the season. Sotutu has been good on attack but he's had some bad misses on defence this year including last ni...
